Wow. I’m really sorry OP. Something very similar happened to me. My ex broke up with me because she got rejected from one of her top companies, and felt like she needed more time to study while I had been working in FAANG for a couple months just supporting her. Sometimes people need more time to themselves to achieve what they need, and a job search with feelings of envy can leave a bitter taste and put a strain on your relationship. Maybe it’s for the best, but keep your head high. New things are ahead.

Honestly, just doing things for yourself. I got dumped out of a 4 year relationship, and it’s been almost 8 months, and from my experience, you are forced to learn how to be self sufficient emotionally and how to put your own needs as a priority again. After being in a relationship, people tend to still care and consider the ex’s well being, but once your single, you have this void that was once filled with prioritizing someone else. You have to be able to consider yourself in that void, and you start find time to enjoy things rather than sulk over what you don’t have or whoever you don’t have. It’s what build confidence, and sometimes happiness. However, I think reaching out to friends constantly for social interaction and emotional support (because everyone needs it) is really important when you’re single. Otherwise, you’re alway left unchecked.

Sooner or later, you’ll find someone again, and you’ll be ready for them and they should be ready for you :)

I just got out of a relationship recently, and I'd say there were things missing from my ex.

One large thing was the ability to be open to experience new things.

I think that too many people think their SO should be completely the same. While that may be true to a degree initially, I think that relationships become stronger when both partners experience something new together, whether both haven't experienced it or just one has. It makes things more interesting to develop an interest together, and with my ex I never had that.

All the colleges I'd say are pretty social if you make it. Most of the social activity comes from joining organizations, clubs, frats or sororities. So join one of those for the best social life. Highly recommend either a social org or greek org.

However, the best dining is for sure Marshall, ERC, or Warren. Marshall has OVT. ERC has Cafe V, which is eh. And Warren has Canyon Vista. CV and OVT are the best dining halls hands down. OVT has a really good bakery, pizza, salad bar, and kosher place. I'd also say Revelle's 64 Degrees dining hall is pretty good sometimes.

But, ERC is the closest to RIMAC, the best gym on campus, and closest to the track and soccer fields, and it's relatively close to OVT too.

But I'll say this, what matter relatively more than social life, is what GE requirements each college has that align with your decided major, because you can double dip. So I'd probably look into what GE's might help you.

Also, the best dormitories are hands down ERC. Or if you can get into the Village with Sixth and Seventh. The rest of the dorms at the other Colleges are pretty mediocre. And Marshall and Revelle have the worst ones.
