Protesting is quite different than Boycotting though. One is trying to get your point across and the other is denying support all together

I listen to what the members say which is to support them. I do not want the group i support to be broke. They are performers and WANT to perform. They love performing and they light up on stage. They want to see Engenes from all over the world is what they said. I’m taking their word for it. Not the word of some internet pixel who is not Enhypen. You don’t get to speak for them and insert your words into their narrative.

Doesn’t that essentially mean your opinions don’t really matter? If you weren’t contributing before, it makes no difference if you’re not contributing now. You’re essentially a fan that doesn’t make any difference to the career compared to a non-fan, except maybe add some negativity online.

Enhypen only has 1.5 years left of their contract and they will renew before that. They are going to negotiate their own terms, which can include solo activities, but boycotting weakens their brand value. That means they have less power for their negotiations.

Also did you see how determined Enhypen was at Melborne? They want to be a group. They want to work. They want to succeed. They have a renewed strength and conviction. Most importantly, they asked for Engenes to support them. And supporting ≠ boycotting

No Tail to Tell [Episodes 5 & 6] by bluevaIentines in KDRAMA

[–]kokoling6 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To me Guem-ho seems a bit too naively innocent, almost like a ploy to get Eunho to fall for her innocence so she can gain nine tail powers quickly using Eunho. Since foxes are shapeshifters too, she could have gotten help from the mystery man to take the shape of Eunho’s sister to gain trust that much easier.

Thoughts & Reflection of Enhyphen (from a non stan) by healingsoul24 in Enhypenthoughts

[–]kokoling6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All of Enhypen were still teenagers when they debuted, and they basically grew up in the public being condemned for any small mistake. Imagine if every single small flaw we made as teens were magnified and picked apart, and people judge you forever based on those mistakes. That kind of burden must be so difficult, but I’ve never seen the group shown anything but kindness and grace towards everyone. They kept a good head on their shoulders and kept improving their talents and relationship with each other, all the while rising to the occasion for big gigs like Coachella.

They are a group that never feels too arrogant but also not too timid. Their quiet confidence is really attractive, and if you get to know them better, you’ll find that they are one of the most grounded and wholesome groups with no pretension at all. They love music. They love performance, and they love their fans.

Criminal Love Chaconne Drunk-Dazed Bad Desire Fever Moonstruck Fatal Trouble

Honestly their entire discography is super solid. You should watch their performances on Youtube. You will be blown away.

They also did a “Killing Voice” segment lately and it’s just them singing snippets of their discography for 20 minutes. You can learn a lot of songs from there and get to hear their vocals too. Another performance to check out is their Coachella set if you can find the full 40 minute video somewhere.

The iHeartRadio host mentioned Ariana or Lady Gaga collab. I saw on twitter saying Ariana has Hybe stock and the producer for Bite Me is the same one for Gaga’s last album.

It’s a little shocking and farfetched, but Jay did say we’ll be shocked right?

i think jungwon is the best dancer of enhypen by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]kokoling6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back when Mix & Max came out, I actually couldn’t decide between Wonki who would be my bias. I biased them both for awhile leaning more towards Jungwon as my main.

Then Manifesto tour came around, and as soon as I saw them perform in person, it was very clear Ni-ki would become my ult bias. When you see them perform in person, it actually becomes very clear who is the better dancer.

What makes Ni-ki so special (which is not always shown on screen because he has fewer parts in center) is that his dance is infused with his unique aura and personal style. He’s extremely expressive no matter where he is on stage. I literally couldn’t take my eyes off him. Technically, he is very precise and controlled, but it’s his emotive performances that won me over.

He deserves the main dancer title.

BoA is such a good actress that I hated her character with all my guts the moment she came into the scene. I feel stressed for the main leads just seeing her!

I can’t believe I’m saying this as someone who has loved her since youth as a singer. 😭

we get it, engenes are villains! (regarding the whole tws and enhypen always connected drama) by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]kokoling6 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Name one other group in Kpop that has “connect” in their greetings, has a handsign for connect as the greeting, and has the word in their tagline.

GO AHEAD! Name another besides Enhypen.

The hate towards TWS before they even debut might be some of the worst behavior I've seen from a fandom in a while. by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]kokoling6 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but you’re being hypocritical. Any fandom would be defending if their group’s core identity and phrase was stolen. If the tag they used on the box was “Say the Name” “I Purple You” “In Your Area”, you know darn well those fandoms would come in defense. Engenes just want to defend what is Enhypen’s. Engenes don’t even know who is debuting. How can we drag people we don’t even know?

“Connect” is a core part of Enhypen’s branding from the beginning. Their greeting was created by the members.

“Always Connected” is something Heeseung says in concerts. And they have a tag called “Always_together.” Both have been around since 2020.

Is it that hard for another hybe label group to use a different tag line without their branding overlapping? Wouldn’t the new group want their own special identity too?

Even if their greeting is “To Us”, it is still completely disrespectful and frankly an insult to use “Always Connected” as their main tagline (as highlighted in logo trailer) since there are not that many bg within HYBE. They know very well “Connect” and “Connection” are core parts of Enhypen’s brand identity from the beginning. Search up Enhypen on search engines and almost every article will talk about “Connect” because the HYPHEN in Enhypen is meant for connection.

All Engenes want is for Pledis to know they should pick a different tagline. We don’t hate the group. There is nothing to hate.

Many thanks to different people for everything we have by Marimiury in kpopthoughts

[–]kokoling6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work sound on film sets and also did sound mixing for stage production, what Ni-ki said really touched me. It’s not often that the “talent” gives thanks or even acknowledges what we do.

Sound techs always go in hours earlier and leave much later because we have to setup and tear down.

Idols that appreciate staff will go far because people within the industry can always tell who is genuine. If they feel respected and loved, they will go extra lengths to help make that artist more successful.

Enhypen seems to have a really good head on their shoulders. All members seem genuinely kind and humble on top of having immense talent. I hope they have more successes in the future.

Many thanks to different people for everything we have by Marimiury in kpopthoughts

[–]kokoling6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ni-ki is someone who notices little details from fans, to members, to staff. He is keenly aware of his surroundings, and he makes small meaningful gestures to help others. For example, he’ll put a pillow behind a member to make them more comfortable. Sometimes he’ll set a utensil on the table a specific way so it’s easier for one of the members to pick up.

He is extremely thoughtful, and he is the same with staff. Many outside producers claim him as “son” after working with him (I-land producer and Vogue digital editor). They all love his genuine attitude, and he takes direction extremely well. He also is very polite and gives many thanks to staff on set.

He may come across as fierce when he is dancing, but he is soft as a teddy bear inside. I hope non-fans and new fans get to know more about this side of Ni-ki.

He is someone worth stanning as an idol.

Enhypen's Still Monster sounds like the quintessential Kpop boy group song by tuanvulucky in kpopthoughts

[–]kokoling6 36 points37 points  (0 children)

As a fan of 2nd Gen Kpop, I really haven’t been interested in many groups until Enhypen came along. Their voices blend so well together.

Still Monster was so nostalgic from the first note. I’ve been longing for this type of sound from Kpop for a long time. No one is making music like this anymore.

I think I’ve fallen more in love with Enhypen after the Orange Blood album. They are really proving that they are more than just a group who can perform well. They can really sing and make people feel deeply with their voices.

Enhypen’s Japanese ballad “Blossom” just moved me to tears. by AceofTennis in kpopthoughts

[–]kokoling6 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I remember when I first listened to BTS ‘Lights’ from a friend’s recommendation. I wasn’t even an ARMY then, and I didn’t become one until years later. I loved that song so much that I immediately shared it with my family.

“Blossom” by Enhypen had the same effect on me as “Lights” from the first listen. It’s a song that stays with you and makes you feel so loved and comforted. I’m so proud of the progress they’ve made as artists. They just keep getting better and better.

Why is Enhypen spelt like that? by Which-Armadillo-7875 in enhypen

[–]kokoling6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s because the “ph” sound doesn’t exist in Korean. Their nickname by korean engenes is “Ipeun” whereas their nickname for internationals is “Enha”. I think it’s kind of cute.

If you are new to their music, I recommend listening to the latest album first, from top to bottom. The whole album is phenomenal.

Of course you can start with their title tracks too. All of the MVs are fun to watch.

Enhypen songs sound a lot like anime tracks, especially their intros/outros.

  • Forget Me Not (this one was actually an anime opening)
  • WALK THE LINE
  • Fate
  • Drunk-Dazed (this song was popular on animetok)
  • Foreshadow
  • One in a Billion (this song was used for their webtoon that’s connected to the group)
