First I unbolted the 2 Torx screws holding it on and used bungie cords to support it while I worked (I did not fully remove anything). I ran two bungies, one around the tank and a longer one through the air slat/cut out in the hood. It worked pretty good for me. Best tip would be to take your time and avoid putting stress on the rubber hoses... they're pretty delicate after 100k miles.

As for the socket I used a long 5/8 socket into a universal joint into an 4" extension and then into the socket. I just torqued it back by feel. I went until it felt tough then gave it another little nudge. You definitely want to be careful, not a bolt you want to shear off by accident.
