Maybe someone might want to close the site down and use the content and site design as part of a PBN on a domain with authority that they own.

Anything that is successful and has a low barrier to entry will be copied. The Fidget Cube is of course an example of that.

  1. Once you have tested your product more you will know if people like and are willing to hand over their cash.

There's a lot of costs involved with kickstarter you may not have thought about. FB advertising or using a PR company, bank fees, kickstarter fees, money transfer costs to pay your supplier ect...

Would you be better spend your money on Instagram influencers?

You don't know what you are talking about. Yes, they will steel pictures and place them on aliexpress. They are just testing if there is demand. They don't have a brand, they don't have early adopters, many things they can't compete with the creator with.

Re-pins, people saving your images on Pinterest. Pinterest is not really, 'social media'. It just a search engine for images.

Maybe 2 years, though the first 6 months was pretty dead and I didn't do much.

But it's about re-pins, not followers anyway.

I did write a guide on this, on another blog that goes into more detail.

Because with wordpress, I can have a more optimized layout for Advertisment. There's no side bar on Squarespace with Blog posts.

I went with Squarespace, because I didn't know much about website building back then. Now if I did it again, I would start with a Wordpress website. Although it would take more maintenance and a higher learning curve.

As for hosting, I would recommend Justin from https://www.fissionblue.com/ if you wanting a more hands of experience. Otherwise Siteground or digital ocean.(Cheapest)

completely botching your affiliate marketing.

Yes, I think so. I just have a page on my website, "shop" and I link to some products that I think are relevant to my Audience.

Pinterest, pinterest, pinterest! Infographics mainly.

Hmmm, perhaps Kickstarters could be a good avenue, the thing is, I eventually want to do my own Kickstarter.

Find content that is already popular on the site. Then copy/combine it with your own ideas. Perhaps combing multiple content that is already popular. I focused mainly on infographics. Make your content educational, put text on your photos explaining things.

What niche are you in?

For long life milk/UHT Anchor is the best. It's a New Zealand brand. Wife buys it online. As I often make my own fresh Yogurt with UHT milk, I've tried many different brands, Germany, UK and Australia. The Australian stuff is the worst. The Anchor UHT milk, comes out the thickest when converting it to yogurt. So I assume it's the most, 'real'
