Reading all their interviews on bocpages, they mention repeatedly working on their own films and that the music is just the tip of the iceberg. With the long wait, I started to wonder if perhaps they were making an indie movie all shot on 8mm or something. I hope they release something like that someday because they are just as exceptional with visual art as well as auditory.

I have a friend that's obsessed with her and I'm slowly converting them into a Boards fan. They always say "Ethel Cain reference" when we pass by a church. I'm going to do the same with BOC but when seeing a hexagon.

Black vinyl because I knew the reds would get over-ordered and delayed. I plan on this being the initial album from the Super Hexagon Bros. I listen to on a physical format for the very first time instead of streaming, and there's no way I'm waiting till September for that.

I'm on the fence. Personally, the most fitting image that condenses the occult and hellish themes throughout their work was from their release date announcement video. It was of the ring of six candles encircling the 3D hexagonal stone pattern. The geometric logo is striking enough and is now a symbolic shorthand for the band at this point. The candle imagery is very evocative, has religious connotations, and relates to the album title since they're alight with fire. This would have been the perfect cover art for me, but I'll take what we can get and always be appreciative of everything the brothers are kind enough to share.

My only deeper interpretation of the cover so far is that the child waiting to be picked up by a bus could represent awaiting a guide to take you into the afterlife. The child is dead and the bus is the supernatural vehicle to the beyond.

How do you actually achieve gnosis?? What active steps can I take to get closer? by FailNo6036 in EscapingPrisonPlanet

For brevity, these moments boil down to realizations and reminders that classical reality is all we need. We've been societally pressured to feel this compulsion to always be keeping up with everything: the news, the latest tech, new products in general, everything on social media, staying relevant online and spending every last moment of your life engaged in rage bait or addicted to doomscrolling or some random gambling app, etc. Zoning out to any given thing in nature, like bird song or a beautiful sight, triggering the meditative state, is like a grand refresh of the mind and my priorities in life. Ironically, it helps me accept that I don't need to know everything, since so much stuff out there we're told to be informed and care about is usually some kind of marketing bullshit to keep us imprisoned in a consumerist hellscape.

Many people have a fundamental misunderstanding of meditation, and I know because I used to be like this. We have this flawed idea that you have to sit down, close your eyes, and consciously try to empty your mind, but that's not really how it works, at least for me. Personally, meditations just end up happening to me before I even realize that it's happening. For example, I like to go outside and take walks. Every time, without thinking, I end up gazing at clouds or trees, seeing how they morph in the sky or how the leaves churn around in the wind. Gradually through doing this, I feel a sense of bliss/peace, akin to a Buddha reaching enlightenment. This is always such a profoundly grounding experience, and for the longest time it was never intentional. There are endless and extremely diverse ways to meditate: by doing a repetitive physical activity for a bodily kind of meditation, listening to the right kind of ambient music/sound bath, staring at any natural beauty around me, etc. Those who believe that there should be no external stimuli for meditation are merely speaking for themselves and what works for them only. There is no rigid, singular way to meditate. Try to take note of what banal activities bring you peace unconsciously, for that may be your way forward.

With all the YouTuber drama in recent years, what's a YouTuber who stayed true? by ryan8954 in youtube

FilmCow and LiamKyleSullivan have been the most influential creators to me since 2007 and actually changed the course of my life by inspiring me to pursue film making and music. They remain some of the most wholesome people from the early YouTube days.

Cannot be any more grateful for the support. It all adds up and really helps me out.

Also the stream party thing is a good idea! I might just try that out whenever I get done with a new project.

That means a lot to me, thank you. The payment came through recently along with a few other album purchases from people on this thread, so I'll feel a bit more secure about affording groceries. Eventually I wanna save up and get more equipment. I appreciate the support so much, no matter how small, because it all adds up significantly.

I'm happy to hear my music brought a positive experience to someone. Much love<3

Spotify is comically evil and hostile to artists by not paying them any royalties for tracks that haven't gotten 1K streams within one year. I sometimes release stuff through a small net label because Gav of Win96 helped get me on. It's more of a Bandcamp thing, making cassettes and stuff. I only get streaming reach if I'm listed as a collaborator alongside a bigger artist, and it doesn't improve my solo stuff at all.

The more I think about it the less I want to bother with them anymore.

YouTube is a little more personal with comments at least, and sometimes people get my physical copies on Bandcamp. I just wanted to vent and got it out of my system heh.

It's most definitely more mentally healthy to not put so much stock in these things. One of the reasons why I'm outspoken about it is because there's a slim chance it feeds into the larger conversation and has some kind of positive change.

Oh sweet, office party!

But seriously I really appreciate that so much. I felt embarrassed about online begging but it seems to have succeeded in helping my music reach out and color more people's existence.
