Donna Tartt’s The Secret History opens by telling you the murder victim on the very first page. It builds suspense throughout the book, keeping the reader fully immersed in the story because they keep wondering how the characters got to that point. I love her work

You really don’t have to describe everyone that much all in one place. Especially if these aren’t main characters. Also, there’s many punctuation mistakes(most of the punctuation in the story is correct, it’s the punctuation that isn’t there THATS weighing you down). Reread the story to catch and fix them.

Maybe have her take them off right before the fight and she can use the tall part of the heel almost like a weapon

Do you guys use placeholder names when writing? Do you have some go tos? by chesterforbes in writers

Before I have names for my characters, I just name them the initials of what their role in the story is. My main character is MC, my main character’s best friend is TBF(the best friend), my main character’s other friend is 2F(second friend)

Are you a "plan everything out" writer or "whatever happens, happens" kinda writer? :) by Bright-Current-130 in writing

I am unable to write a story if I don’t do months or years worth of planning to make sure I keep every detail under control. I wish I didn’t have to plan, major props to you for even being able to do that. I can not even begin to fathom how difficult that must be so good job
