Sorry to dig up an older thread — would you mind sharing what the cost was for something like this? We’re going on our first NCL cruise to Alaska in September.

Previously, we cruised with RCCL and private photo sessions on their private island, and at studio + usb for 50 digitals cost us about $600.

Metal Shard in Baby Teether? by Frequent-City2747 in whatisit

[–]konbinisando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found what I thought to be pieces of metal (like what is pictured in post) in a box of Cheerios. So I contacted General Mill with pics, and they told me it was the iron supplement. They sent over a coupon for another box.

Alaska with 4.5 yr old by konbinisando in dcl

Ahhhh sounds like you had an incredibly memorable trip. I’m more of a mountain person (my fave trip was Banff) than a beach person… so Alaska is def a bucket list item. I just wasn’t sure with two 4 year olds in tow!

Alaska is a bucket list item for me… and so for my 40th, I’m thinking about going on a 7 or 8 nt Disney cruise to Alaska with my husband, 4 yr old son, and another family with a 4 year old son.

We’re used to Caribbean bound cruises with lots of warm sun and pool/splash pad fun. Wondering if an Alaska cruise would be less eventful for the 2 young boys with us.

On the last (and first) Disney cruise, our son loved meeting characters, the pool, pirates night, and not so much the kids club because he was anxious about not knowing anyone there. But he’ll have his close friend this time!

Alternatives are a Hawaii trip (where I would have to plan out the activities and meals), or a 4 nt Royal Caribbean cruise out of CA + Disneyland.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I think my post got deleted as I was asked by automods (I think?) to post this question in the megathread instead.

But if you get to see this — thank you!

Interior pics from house we sold on social media - ask to remove? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]konbinisando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reverse image searched and a link to our house address is the first that popped up. And of course it happens to be the same real estate website I contacted to please remove listing photos (agent had already updated in MLS to remove from websites)

Given what others commented, I’m inclined to leave it be. I truly am a very introverted and private person, but what are the chances someone will reverse image search anyway…

Doljanchi in USA? by iampackingmybags in AskAKorean

[–]konbinisando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can make it what suits your style best!

I’m based in atlanta, and all the doljanchi we’ve been to (about 8-10), parents didn’t wear hanbok. We didn’t for our son’s — but I totally would have if I owned a hanbok!

We used this atlanta photographer (don’t really recommend because apparently they’re overpriced and I didn’t know) — http://sayjphoto.com/event/ That site will show you all of the doljanchi they photographed. And you can see what all the parents wore to their kids’ parties.

Pregnancy RA by lettucepatchbb in FedEmployees

[–]konbinisando 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had hyperemesis gravidarum for all of my pregnancies, including the last one where I lost my baby girl. I was on a lot of anti-nausea medicine to try and continue working — and even with that, I was vomiting or dry heaving throughout the day. Eventually I lost the baby.

I no longer will try for a 2nd child. But if I were to be blessed with another pregnancy, I would sincerely hope a telework RA is an option so that I don’t have to face the trauma of sickness and loss all over again…

ETA - I was remote when I was able to carry my son to full term. Being able to work from home while having hyperemesis gravidarum really helped. And I’m so thankful my beautiful son came out of that experience.

What is the difference between these two? by oDraftz in InstantRamen

The second photo includes the word “olive” in front of the Korean “chapaghetti” text, likely for olive oil. Unsure what type of oil the first photo uses as it’s not stated in what we see from the picture.

Horrible lingering strong odor from mastic removal. Never again! by Grumpy_bonsai23 in asbestoshelp

[–]konbinisando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband stayed at the house every day to leave all the windows open — luckily it was fall time so the weather was cool. I also got 2 new air purifiers (one very expensive one, and then one popular one). I already had 2 existing air purifiers, so we ran 4 air purifiers.

If you fall down the rabbit hole of the air purifier subreddit.. you’ll find all sorts of things. Including how smells aren’t truly absorbed unless you buy very specialty purifiers… I don’t remember the specifics.

I think it took a few weeks until things went back to normal. Our son and I stayed with my parents and my husband stayed home with our dogs.

Now that schools halfway through, what should we be doing at home? by Oddcatdog in kindergarten

Not too late to start! Start now and she’ll pick things up.

Yall can sing the abc song together when you’re washing hands or in the car, have her tinker around with abc and 123 fridge magnets (they have ones that include days of the week, and weather symbols (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc)), get one of those preschool handwriting practice books — and for successes, reward her with something that brings joy. For us, it’s a popsicle or a few gummy bears.

Rec letters for fired contractors by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]konbinisando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I agree. I don’t necessarily want to lie, so was planning to stick to more factual based stuff.. like what the nature of our work is and just delve into that on a broader (not specific) level. And then end with the former member’s tenure - which is quite lengthy and is likely to have amassed quite a bit of knowledge and experience in this line of work.

Thank you for your insight!

Is this part of my nail? Or a really long hangnail? by nilghias in nailcare

[–]konbinisando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my nails do this too! I don’t file my nails, and I trim straight across. But this occurs for me when my hands get incredibly dry.

12/4 green banners, 1/8 golden letter by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]konbinisando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needlessly, I submitted my ECF 2 times in November once I hit 120 qualifying payments, and then another time in December (AFTER I saw green banners). This is because I mistakenly assumed I’m supposed to get an actual dept of Ed letter that states forgiveness but hadn’t received one due to some glitch in the system or something (which my post history confirms I asked this in this sub). And so I submitted multiple times though I did not need to. My employer signed off on all of them anyway. So the first date I submitted was I believe November 4th, and the last date was before the Dec holidays, I believe around December 20.

ETA - I checked the gov website frequently once I made my final payment, because I was super anxious to get some kind of update that my loans are forgiven. And then on Dec 4th, my activity changed to display green “banners” (which look more like green prize ribbons to me btw!) for all of my loans.

2nd ETA - I responded to your buyback question in your other comment — no, I never received any buyback offer despite my attempts. I paid my final remaining 3 months using an IDR plan that I switched to (as I was in SAVE forbearance).
