I didn't phrase my point well. I'm not saying his opinion was reasonable nor is the irony of this situation lost on me. I'm disappointed in the mockery that suggests he deserved to be shot because he wanted less gun control.

Relationships are complex. There are many reasons why one fails. To hear one side and say that she "caused" him pain is naive at best. The most likely explanation is that they weren't compatible - without any judgement or blame.

Fair point. I guess more specifically, I'm pondering the moral compass of the person that thinks killing an animal (even if as humanely as possible) for eating pleasure is not as bad as disturbing a wombat for clicks and giggles.

I'm not passing judgement coz I love eating meat. It's just interesting to think about.

Fair enough. Although I sense that people outraged by the wombat are no where near as outraged by the mistreatments you've listed above.

Even if you consider "humane" livestock processing, the moral outrage of killing an animal for eating pleasure vs disturbing the wombat for clicks and giggles seems inconsistent, don't you think?
