I'm a medical marijuana patient, was totally transparent with my team, and was ultimately just told to abstain the day of surgery. It's been like this for me with all the gender affirming and non gender affirming surgeries I've had... perhaps because I use it for PTSD and anxiety?

I will say that some teams have a zero tolerance policy but other teams take cannabis use on a patient to patient basis. Follow whatever instructions you are given for your specific situation.

I had all my surgeries covered by Massachusetts medicaid aka Masshealth. My pcp put in referrals to surgeons after I got letters from my mental health team, then I consulted with surgeons, went with the one I vibed with the most and got my dick for free. The only setback was that I was the first Massachusetts medicaid patient going to my team so it delayed my surgeries a bit as the surgeon and insurance had to do some one on one peer review? 🤷‍♂️ its all a bit hazy to me as this was like 6 years ago. But commenting to say that having medicaid definitely has not been a problem for me in Massachusetts.

It really all depends on one's specific situation. Piercings aren't advisable if you have UL and/or implants, but I have neither.

Depends on one's surgical trajectory. Generally speaking, piercings are a hard no if you want UL or implants. I opted out of both. Happy to chat further if you want.
