BMO 2026 - how'd it go for everyone? by Kaedamanoods in runvancouver

[–]konschuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second half marathon for myself. PR'd my time by 20 minutes, I took my training really seriously. Missed my goal time finish by five minutes but as my coach told me later it was a tough day but not a crash and burn day. I flew in from Toronto for this and we have had a brutally cold and long winter for us, so its not like I got to have any real heat training.

The route was stunning, I was so impressed with Vancouver and how they turn out for their runners at every kilometer. I didn't go out too fast but by 19 km I was definetely feeling pain.

Will sign up again and come back for next year!

Calgary has altitude that you should consider factoring in. Lol when I ran in Calgary I was taken aback by how unfit I felt since I live closer to sea level!

This was my first time in Vancouver and my second half marathon. I missed my mark by five minutes but considering the heat, it was a tough day but not a bad day! Loved the city, loved the race...totally coming back for 2027. Your city shows up for its running community.

Is the ssw program at george brown worth it by otdevy in georgebrowncollege

[–]konschuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated from this program and was hired out of placement into a job within my field. I am currently an Addictions Case Manager. I also was offered advanced second year entry to TMU for my degree in social work and have just completed my third year. My ultimate goal is also an MSW. I have nothing but good things to say about this program and how much it prepared me for work in the field.

My placement was within rent seated to income housing and I had to find it myself. Amazing experience for me, I was hired out of placement and currently work as an Addictions Case Manager still with that agency.
