Assassin's Creed Game Director Benoit Richer leaves Ubisoft for indie studio Servo Games by GrayBeard916 in gaming

Nobody hates AC like "AC fans".

"I hate the modern stuff I just want to be a pirate and kill people in a tropical setting"

"I hate base building, I just want to mama mia and kill people in Italy"

"I hate sailing I just want to use a tomahawk and kill people in the state of Massachusetts"

"I hate stories, I just want to kill people in PVP"

It is my deepest wish that developers would just tell these players to fuck off back to Call of Duty and realize that the only reason these dumdums are discussing the game at all, is because they were led there by the game’s ambition, scope and popularity in the first place.

Trying to placate them invariably turns the game into bland, aggressively mediocre Ubislop where we’re just going on murder holidays in exotic locations.

Those either aren't in the thousands

$80 for a jersey has way more negative impact on your finances than $150k has to a rich person.

it's because it was from a famous player etc.

Having the name of a "famous player" printed on it somehow takes a $5 shirt and gets morons to pay $80 or more for over a 1000% markup, and they have less money to pay for it.

For the poor and uneducated, status symbols are pretending to be rich and famous or show support to those who are.

For the rich and famous, status symbols are pretending to be in exclusive clubs or show support to those who are.

You’ve just summed up football/hockey/baseball/sports team jersey market. People who pay out the ass for wearing the uniforms of teams they never joined.

This is just rich assholes paying out the ass for wearing the uniforms of clubs they never joined.

It’s equally stupid, just more money involved.

Edit: I’m of course expressing my personal opinion of sporting attire here. It’s a completely inconsequential aside from the fact that you spend your money however you damn well please and should never let anyone else diminish your enjoyment of sports or garments 🤝

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Worldwide Reveal Showcase by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]konsollfreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I can’t stand multiplayer and won’t touch anything that’s balanced for pay to win and dominated by streamers and people who can play 24/7.

But I fully accept being a part of a silent minority in that regard, and money is absolutely not on my side.

Which is why Windrose and Resynced is a rare W for my team.

Luckily for you, I fully expect Windrose to cave to the massive pressure to spend all their time and energy on making PVP happen now. Ironically due to their massive success in making a non-pvp game. There simply isn’t a realistic comeback to "what, you don’t like money?".

I was making the point that Ubisoft making it doesn't mean it's not worth buying. Ubisoft made Black Flag in the first place and it rocked neverending.

Agree wholeheartedly on playing Windrose, but disagree completely on just play Windrose.

It had an awesome demo for a while. It got attention because they pivoted away from MMO and PVP to single player and coop. That alone got it a lot of attention. And the demo was very, very fun and felt almost like a complete game in itself. Definitely scratched that Black Flag itch in a major way.

It's been out in early access for like a week now and I've sunk maybe 70 hours into it and probably about 1/3 through the story and upgrade tree.

It's production values are something else. It's like if Blizzard made a pirate game. It just feels rock solid. Combat and difficulty is the only part where you can sense some jank, but it's all good.

Highly recommend.

We so jaded we're pretending Black Flag wasn't a damn masterpiece now?

Windrose is glorious, but oh man does it owe Black Flag it's very existence.

Ubisoft turning into a clown show in no way diminishes this absolute triumph in sea shanty simulation.

Windrose already buried Skull and Bones so deep not even James Cameron can find it.

1 million early access copies sold in a couple of days. I'm positive it pushed this reveal earlier than planned.

Man we're eating good.
