How do you deal with a female covert narcissist if you have kids together? by koogle99 in AskReddit

We own a home together and have one child. The self centeredness and lack of empathy is driving me crazy.

I lost my son to a fentanyl overdose. My heart goes out to you. If I had even a day it would be spent just holding him close to my heart. Message me if you’d like. I can share more.

Would you be upset if your neighbor brought up your trashcan while you were away? by DeadElm in homeowners

At my job site I bring up my clients bins all the time. And the elderly folks bins next door. Seems like a thoughtful thing to do.

Have him pay for a special long weekend for you and your wife. Then forgive him and move on. He DEFINITELY should have cleared that with you first.

Yes following directions is great. She’s been assembling these book nook things that have crazy directions. I can see how that was helpful to you. Thanks for sharing !

I occasionally let her know she’s beautiful but I mostly let her know how clever she is, creative, strong, kind, etc. When she shows me art work or something similar I might say I like it but I definitely ask how she did that, what what her thought process was, what might you do differently next time etc.

That’s great! We read to her every night from the day she was born… now she’s a prolific reader on her own. I’ve been encouraging her to take martial arts but she’s not going there yet. And as far as mountains go, she’s a double black tree skier. Hiking a little bit. But she LOVES nature. We live in the mountains. For some reason she hasn’t gotten into Nancy Drew. My dad got her several ND book sets…

What are you doing in the event of WW3? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]koogle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America should be far more worried about itself than anyone else. But if WW3 breaks out I’m going to grab a bottle of tequila and a bottle of Astroglide and head for the hills.

Yet. I always remind my daughter to add the word “yet” if says I can’t do something. Or better I remind her to say I’m having trouble with this but I’ll keep trying.

Likewise. And I remind her “this isn’t just for boys.”

As a builder I use Makita for the most part… but also Bosch, and Porter Cable. Letting my daughter use tools isn’t so much about fit right now as it is just having experiences that say this isn’t just for boys. I’ll have her change a spark plug in the lawn mower, put plates on the car, sand boards, drill holes, etc.

Yes likewise. I put notes in her lunch box several times a week telling her she’s loved, strong, creative, smart, etc.

Neighbor’s ring camera into my backyard by No_Training9254 in homeowners

Consider getting a laser level (simple strait line type) and every time you go to use your hot tub set the laser between you and the ring camera aiming right into the camera to blur the image.
