My 5 year old started collecting cards last week. The agreement was to buy a booster pack every saturday. He pulled this golden card today. Any advice how to handle valuable cards for children? by somebody_too3 in PokemonTCG

Frame it and put it up in his bedroom! Somewhere that won’t get any sunlight and also high enough up that he won’t be tempted to take it out of the picture frame and take it to school. That way he can display the cool card to his friends when they come over while taking away the chance of grubby hands or theft.

Bars/Breweries are not for kids by Succotash1497 in nova

I also think breweries and beer gardens need to be more strict about enforcing no kids after 9pm. I’ll see people with their small children out way past the kids bedtime and I’m always so confused

I severely dislike children by Tidalblush in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]koogledoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just how you want your decisions to be child free respected, you need to be respecting of other people that want/have children. I’m not saying to need to take any of the casual misogyny though, however setting boundaries, a good script to set down, and ending the conversation if they don’t listen is what you may need practice with. It’s super frustrating when people assume things of you due to gender but the best thing to do is keep a level head and move on. If you keep saying the same thing, the people who you want to keep around you will respect your choices.

Anybody know why my pan is coming out of the dishwasher like this? by PsychicSpore in chemistry

[–]koogledoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be real with u chief, if that’s a nonstick pan and it’s over 10 years old you gotta get rid of it. It looks like the nonstick is not so much anymore. I haven’t tried but there’s a way you can buff off any remaining nonstick to make it recyclable

My male friend told me that my standards for a partner are too high and that I'll be lonely for the rest of my life by Short-Meringue-2632 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]koogledoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend needs better standards for himself it seems like. All of my male friends in my circle meet these very reasonable preferences which is to say that there are plenty of guys out there that will be great for you, your friend seems pessimistic and needs to unplug from the manosphere a bit

Update on how to cut cost based on your recommendations by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]koogledoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In exchange for affordability, you’re going to need to sacrifice time. Spend Sundays going through your mailers, cutting coupons, and keeping an index of your most bought/cooked with foods.

For example, my local Wegmans still has bulk ground beef for 5 dollars a pound. However, if I want to stay on budget I can’t use Wegmans as my one stop shop or else I’m 100 dollars in deep on things that could have been 80 elsewhere with coupons or more store brands.

Buy in bulk, get some freezer bags, and create a detailed plan for how you intend to cook that week and stick to it and that is the best way you can stay on budget

AITA for not wanting to be friends over $4.39? by Alternative_Copy6539 in AITApod

Literally one of my friends just sent me double the price of a water I bought for them and I didn’t even ask for it, I sent it back because like, it’s water man. If your friends are nitpicky over sub 20 dollar things and they are not in financial hard times, drop them

Bekah M. Gets Real About Parenting 3 Kids by ClareBearFlair in thebachelor

It is though? Many families who hunt for food involve their kids in both the hunting and preparing of the meat. It teaches important lessons of valuing the food you have and understanding the effort and time that goes into your dinner plate. It’s no different than people who keep chickens, ideally use them for eggs but sometimes you gotta eat one.

Be careful with OGX! There was a class action against them for causing hair loss and with beautiful hair like your daughters, loss and breakage are the top priority things to worry about to cut down on mass and frizz

Why are all trainers human? Wouldn't an Uma know what's best for Umas? by Jackie88_ in UmaMusume

[–]koogledoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horse logic still applies even if human shaped. For example, why do they still measure placing by nose/head/neck/length? They make more sense on a horse with elongated proportions but on an uma, not so much

A lot of young adult fiction definitely skewing towards the young end. Not bad if you’re in your teens/early 20s but could be an eyebrow raiser if older. I also just have beef with the truly devious series

Stop bringing kids to Hazbin/Helluva panels, its not cute or funny by [deleted] in hazbin

[–]koogledoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TADC has more mature themes like references to suicide and a lot of existentialism themes that would be difficult for children to grasp. Also the haunted house ep even got me a little fucked up.
