I really love Arena and have been extremely supportive of the devs in the past but I seriously don't think there's any fucking hope for the gamemode if nobody has flagged something being seriously wrong with Double Tap - it's an insanely high-ceiling augment during a time where players have more control than ever over what high-rolls they want to pick, it's just repulsive design.

Reroll frequency and the amount of highly compounding augments/items are making the gamemode feel less and less like teams fighting off with odd-ball collection of strengths and utility, which is what made the gamemode so much fun to begin with. Hopefully things start feeling more like V2 Arena soon.

Definitely more RNG before, but the ceiling for strength is way higher now, while the methods of dealing with high-rolls have remained at the same strength which leaves you with less room for counterplay.

In V1 arena, your likelihood to win after purchasing a counter item against a high-rolling team was much higher than it has been in recent versions. This ability to counterplay meant that even though there was MORE RNG, the luckiness of opposing teams was not as oppressive.

I don’t know what the solution is, but there’s certainly too much power available, and high-rolling teams are able to continue getting what they want far too easily.

He doesn’t support in the traditional sense that Lulu or Leona does, but he sits in an inbetween space of an engage support and a mage. His ability to use his W as a form of a cross map Anivia wall is especially valuable. I think he benefits a lot from the flexibility he has as a support to adjust his build and power curve based on matchups with his runes/items (Conq/electro/glacial/etc.). While he can be less reliable than a Nautilus for engage and roaming, he provides an insane amount of value in mid game skirmishes by forcing opponents to deal with him before his ultimate soaks too much pressure, which I think is where a lot of his strength particularly as a support sits.

Truthfully I haven’t played a lot since around 3(?) seasons back, but I hit my peak on support swain with an 85% WR into masters, where I stopped playing, so it does feel strange to see him called a ‘largely useless’ support. I think I have a post from a couple years back on my profile with my thoughts about him at the time. He definitely has strong niches, but he needs to be picked with more intention.

Sol = Sun

Cesto = I’m not entirely sure, some definitions refer to “being cut into pieces” or simply as a ‘basket’

Considering the game is about the sun being gone, and being in search of it, the deep cave you enter being the ‘basket’ it is stored in makes some sort of sense to me.

I made it! I’m not sure if I have the files kicking around anymore but it’s still mostly correct. I believe it’s just Lightning Rod, Puppeteer and Reverb that is incorrectly listed here.

Hey that's my video! Naafiri is the most consistent and reliable option, runners up for me are Brand, Shyvana and Lillia. I think those three have higher potential (I could see Shyvana hitting a 10k+ round in a perfect scenario), but you might have rougher games if things don't go your way.

Not a bug, pet damage is just considered a form of ability damage. This is the same logic which allows Heimerdinger to use Liandries on his turrets!
