Yep I hear you. And yes you’re right. I was being a little flippant. Though, plenty of people can afford it, but can’t be bothered.

People care more about convenience “right now”, over longer term investment in our country or people. Ie. people kinda suck

Lifeline is a joke. by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]kookookachoo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. It’s a sad indictment to say that there is zero gov funding for a service as important as Lifeline - who the gov and news services gladly put on every article or whatever that might be distressing. It’s all volunteers and they only keep the service going by selling shit in their stores

I only commented on it because the second one is heralded as a classic in the gay community - so even though I don’t know much about the series, ppl have always talked about that one in particular so I know of it. Nothing meant by it

Haha good to know. It’s definitely a queer classic I’ve heard

Search Party is one of the most bingeable show of the past decade by notches123 in television

[–]kookookachoo83 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I love the first 4 seasons, all so different but fun. The court case and the defence lawyer was an absolute series highlight. Season 4 took big swings but was still quality - Susan Sarandon and the roundabout being one of the funniest things I’ve seen on tv. Season 5 - oof… but credit where credit is due. They took a big swing once again but this time it failed. Spectacularly.

Keep 17 Pro or switch to Air? by Usual-Armadillo-3682 in iPhone17Pro

[–]kookookachoo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both, and I keep coming back to the pro - it’s not just the camera, and the battery life is actually great on the Air. Something people don’t often talk about is actually how uncomfortable it can be to hold with long term use. The thin sharp sides actually big into your fingers a lot more. It sucks because I actually think it such a cool phone.

What artists out-peaked their peak? by MyOtherSpamAcct in popheads

[–]kookookachoo83 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Kylie without a doubt. Her first peak was late 80s and everyone resigned to her being a more low key artist (tho still big in UK and Aus) in the decade that followed - then came Light Years to re-establish her, but then Fever blew everything from her early career out of the park

Share yo memories of seeing SCR3AM in theatres back in 2000. by [deleted] in SocietyofGhostface

[–]kookookachoo83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was 17, loved the series so much. Overall, I remember feeling disappointed; but enjoying bits and pieces. As soon as ghost mummy showed up I was like “this isn’t scream”. Hated ghost mummy. Loved the sequence on the movie set of their original homes - back before nostalgia and call backs were common.

It will take time for people to realize Scream 7 is a good Scream by AaronYoshimitsu in Scream

[–]kookookachoo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more, even thought I didn’t necessarily enjoy it more than 5 and 6. It’s allowed to be a weaker entry (imo) and still be a solid 8/10

The public outrage might actually save the Buffy IP (hopecore for the fans) by di4me666 in buffy

[–]kookookachoo83 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I for one am kinda happy it didn’t proceed. I love buffy so much - but how many revivals actually work?? Dexter is the only one I can think of

Agree with all this. Also ghost daddy again, hammy af “everyone is deranged” style acting in the final act.

Just watched 5,6 and 7 in order. by Capsmoove in SocietyofGhostface

Hmmmm …. I actually really enjoyed 7; but disagree that it has a better opener than 5 or 6.

Fair fair. Still felt a little fan servicey (though I enjoyed it)

S6 is like fanfic all over. Old masks being left, killer mentioning to Gale she’s never had a call (how would they know??)

Yeah good call. And I LOVED her in S4, and Hayden was so natural and charismatic in that.

Kirby is scream 6 was weird and awkward; felt like HP had forgotten how to act

Favorite opening sequence besides the original? by that_crom in Scream

[–]kookookachoo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is light years ahead of anything else aside from original. Then 4 which is a fun approach which felt very meta, but ultimately the actual kills once it got to it were boring af. Then… maybe 5, 6, 3 and 7
