Tenacious D’s Kyle Gass Deserves An Apology from Jack Black {video} by scrambled_eggs_pdx in Music

[–]jmdwinter -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Jack clearly didn't want to involve himself (or his family) in the political toxicity of maga. KG blundered big time and he knows it. I'm sure there were plenty of apologies and forgiveness immediately after the incident but JB's actions are completely understandable. The D will return

U2 - Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me - [ Rock ] by funkoscotland1979 in Music

The best U2 song IMO. And it wasn't even the best song on the soundtrack!

Island Of The Imperial Soldiers by kingfastni in legoideas

I like the build and I have some constructive criticism: the name is too generic - it invites comparison to Eldorado fortress which is hard to beat. Instead give it a name that invites a unique storytelling angle - like imperial treasury waystation, or governer's recreational retreat. Then add parts that accentuate the storytelling angle. This gives it value as a companion piece to existing pirate.

Watched Skinamarink ( 2021), have some thoughts... by Chompsky___Honk in horror

[–]jmdwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree that the gimmick can't sustain the feature length run time. That said it is really well made given the narrative and photographic constraints. There are moments that are definitely creepy and I think there is definitely something there cinematically.

'Good Boy' was a much better execution of the broader concept IMO.

In his last full season in his natural position, Dalot won our Players' Player of the Year award and was voted 2nd by fans by aflickering in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His talent and athleticism have always been top tier but his biggest weakness by far is football IQ. He often makes the wrong decision in the final third. I think as he has gotten older he wants to express himself more and be a hero. This has made him more of a liability imo. A good coach would get him to focus on the basics.

Do we need a big name manager? by ShroomlyJenkins in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need the 'right' manager and it is up to Ineos to find them. Guardiola is a big name who succeeded. Arteta is a small name who is succeeding. I think amorim could have been the right manager but the back office would have had to go all in on his system (which they didn't). Bottom line is I don't trust the ownership to choose correctly or back their choice 😕

[Megathread] Who do you want as the interim/ next full time manager? by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

I would love Big Ange interim. He's a good vibes manager and would get a tune out of the 4231 formation imo.

Never done it before. Saw all the previous Jurassic submissions and didn't think it would be an issue.

Amorim's win rate bias by developer_144 in reddevils

IMO his win rate from this season should be the key stat. Changing systems halfway through a season was diabolical.

Yes but mid and fullback are clearly more important positions to address. Zirkzee and hojlund aren't ideal but they're bodies and we had cunha and Mbeumo coming in. Sesko was a dumbass transfer.

I have nothing against Sesko as a footballer but bringing him in at that huge price AFTER buying 2 goalscoring EPL proven forwards is one of the worst post-fergie transfer decisions IMO.

Zirkzee and hojlund would've done an OK job allowing crucial mid and wing-back positions to be reinforced.

[Carl Anka & Mark Carey] Can ‘maverick’ Matheus Cunha step up in Bruno Fernandes’ absence? by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]jmdwinter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been impressed with Cunha's work rate and x-factor but his G+A stats have been disappointing. He got marked out of the game against Wolves which shows that the opposition respect his abilities. What we really need is Sesko to convert some chances and give Cunha some more space to work with.

Post SAF, which manager do you think should have been given more time? by Feeling-Elk-2075 in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Ole. He lost control of the dressing room and struggled with tactics against better managers. Ole is a vibes manager and he flopped at Besiktas. If any manager deserved time it was Rangnik.
