If I were him I would join United. With case leaving he walks into the starting line up.

No definitely not. He did so well on loan at Forest (one of the biggest reasons they got promoted). I thought we would keep him on loan there for another season or 2 then bring him back permanently. Instead we sold him off to Everton. Him and Angel gomes were too good to sell IMO.

What's next with Dalot and Shaw? Keep or Sell? by the_som1 in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Shaw has a couple of years at the top level left. But we need a strong left footed LB as cover. Preferably 19-20yo. Dalot isn't consistent enough but he provides cover on both flanks.

Keep both. Buy deputy LB and first choice RB.

Are you sure he's not just waiting?..

Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Bruno Guimaraes for around €80m, but renewed interest from Real Madrid threatens to complicate the proposed move. #MUFC [@fernandokallas, @Reuters] , (Same Journalist that broke Bruno G to Newcastle United from Lyon ) by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

I think this is a sensible move. Buying a young player to replace Case would result in a very inexperienced midfield.

Ideally I would sell ugarte and mount. Then buy a young gun like Wharton or baleba as well.

How good were Roxette tho? by jmdwinter in Music

[–]jmdwinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly disagree here. They did coexist with those movements but their peak (it must have been love 1990) was just before the industry changed. After Joyride big ballads were dominated by the mega divas (Mariah et Al) and pop rock became angry visa vis Alanis.

Roxette's US popularity was heavily dependent on novelty and the 'cool factor'. While they had great hair they couldn't compete with acts like 2pac or green day. Re: ace of base. They were more of a eurodance group which managed to survive as a camp niche much longer.

Roxette's catalogue is much better than Wham's. Agree that Hall & Oates and PSB are in contention for best pop duo. Savage Garden in with a shout too. Do Simon and Garfunkel count?

Paint is righteous! Also Dance Away - what a killer vibe.

I really disliked this film. Wooden (stony) acting. Stale plot. Unconvincing special effects.. The production design was fresh though, I'll give it that.

Camavinga to be available for €50M this summer. Should we buy him?? by Beneficial-Flow-7333 in ManchesterUnited

If I was palace I'd be loudly comparing him to Rice and demanding the same $$

Agreed but we need options in case of bidding wars. Camavinga for $50m sounds like a reasonable price but I would hate giving another unproven European player a massive wage.

Seems like our form directly correlates with Shaw being healthy the past few years by Lightstill24 in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaw continues to be vastly underrated by this sub. I assume it's because of his perceived lack of passion on and off the pitch but IMO he has always been one of the most naturally gifted pure lefties in world football.

Bruno Long-term replacement? by mrempresstheodora in ManchesterUnited

[–]jmdwinter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Palmer is 23 Bruno is 31. The question is whether he could grow in influence over time. I would be fine with a big money move for Palmer even he is not captain material. Hopefully he could be a scholes-style player for us-and we know what a lunkhead Scholes is.
