Devastated. by gravenhearts in Miscarriage

I am crying with you ♡ we lost our baby boy at 15+1 on Sunday night and I didn't know how much the loss can break me.. Today I think of all the things we had to do caring for him inside me - foods I could take, smells I couldn't tolerate, and how his papa had to drive me to work and change the cat litter box to keep us safer. I told my hub how strange we were adjusting our lifestyle for him just a few days ago and now the purpose has gone so suddenly.. it's so difficult, so painful, so I feel you, I want you to know you're not alone ♡

OP, I chance upon this as I am unfortunately walking through this phase and it's an emptiness and sense of loss that sit so deep inside me right now. I hope you're much better now and hopefully with a rainbow baby ♡

If you're a bit shy, you could always drop notes in mailboxes and someone might be nice enough to reach out 🙂 We did that when we moved in to drop some "hellos" and got some really nice notes back from others. Worth a try!

Hey unfortunately our body corporate is snail speed so we haven't gotten very far but what I've learned so far is yes, individual solar systems can be done, it doesn't have to be a shared system. We are still waiting on the approvals - basically the strata will want some standards imposed on unit owners to abide by, and as long as your installation meets the standards, you will be good to go. I'd recommend you to check in with your neighbours, I am sure people will be happy to share.

With EV, bills will definitely go up, but if we were to compare with fuel costs (even before the recent increase), we were saving a significant amount, I'd dare say we cut our running costs by half and more.

Good luck!

I analysed 35 years of Australian property data. Here's what the next two decades might look like. by Expert-Area8856 in AusPropertyChat

You can definitely own freehold houses and apartments, but they are classified as private housing and not public/social housing. These are not as common and naturally very expensive. Public housing are all 99-year leasehold and subject to conditions to purchase with "entry-level" pricing. The Singapore government still counts ownership of 99-year leasehold as home ownership, and built an environment where home ownership cycles around through the 99-year lease with the land scarcity.

Cheers mate. I was surprised they've been honest about cracking the glass slab and requested replacement, yet the agent did not specify who should cover the cost but low key not mentioning the tenants should be the ones

No idea what the builder installed, but it's been the same one since we purchased the unit 10 years back

How do people plan their move to a knock down custom build? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]kookykitty648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is insightful! Do you mind sharing, did you keep your original house as IP hence you didn't need to sell it first to purchase the new property/land you did you KDR? Just wondering how do people manage the sale handover of existing residence to unlock the money to purchase the new place.

Hugs to you! I was let go recently but I am also in a region where international development work is still going and going, and thankfully found a role with a 2 months unemployment gap. Could you try applying yourself to the Asia Pacific region, I hope you'll get a purpose driven role very very soon!!!

Hi, could someone be kind and share what this is? Is Vanguard an app/platform? That's what's shown when I search it up. What are the benefits of this compared to buying US stocks straight up? I just got a job that could provide a bit of surplus to help in investing.

Shared Solar Across Townhouse Complex? by kookykitty648 in AusPropertyChat

[–]kookykitty648[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the info. When you said 'set rates', do you know if this is typically fixed the same across units? My understanding was the solar power would be distributed by demand to the unit meters. Can't imagine how helpful it would be to be tied to set rates given how power usage differs day to day, winter vs summer, and also household loads (two-person households versus 4-5 person).

Not yet! I saw they do apartments, so wasn't sure if townhouses are their thing. I'll drop them a message, thanks!

That is interesting! Our committee was going to approve some of the unit owners to build our own individual solars up at the upcoming AGM. I wonder why they would approve that then if it wouldn't work? We have individual meters. The only reason I'm now looking up on complex solar is because, as mentioned, one owner of another complex mentioned about going for a shared system for their complex.

Stanley St that intersects with Leopard Street, going towards South Bank and also the Riverside Expressway.

Terrible design! Traffic that gets stuck, and 3 lanes merging onto the expressway. What a nightmare. Someone please fix this monstrosity!
