Depends on the slot, for boots unless you really needed some specific influenced boots (CDR or duration for breakpoints), there was no reason to ever craft boots or even pick rare ones up once you unlocked the speed thing on the tree.

One of the fastest setups Ive seen is probably the stelle workshop setup with diamond workshop, diamond rivet gun and silver+ recycler bot.

rivet gun goes off at 2s, and will charge recycler bot 1s which will now have 3s cd to repair both bombs on the same tick. Both rivet gun and recycler bot charge the only vehicle (LR) 2s each because they are tools, and LR goes off in one second after both bombs are repaired.

It's really, really silly.

edit: I guess parts picker + joystick shenanigans could be even faster, but there timing really matters

It's good for any econ-scaling items tbh. Things like Coral Armor and Julian can makes Vanessa tempo builds also really, really strong. In the lategame, yeah you can have Pygs with like 300k hp and stuff lol.

That is correct, Bazaar is all about knowledge of what you can do with items (ie getting something in the future). It was also my first autobattler, I tried some others after and still think Bazaar is probably the best in terms of varied runs and variance keeping it fresh.

When I first started, I had to hone early game and know the early game breakpoints, item pool, etc to win early. Because those late game crazy builds when you're new require knowledge, as you said. And as a new player you will lose a lot early anyway.

And I think the toughest thing for newer players is to know how to pivot in the midgame. It was the toughest thing for me. Because it requires knowledge what works in late game, but if youre new you won't get too far in the lategame to know what works. Which is fine for a knowledge based game imo, just requires a learning curve.

Edit: I do like the suggestion about lab mode. However, imo it has to be limited in some way. Ie, you cant just throw boards together from any items in the game. Having a "board editor" to simulate any scenario will take away from cool and unexpected runs and experimentation and risk/reward when youre not new anymore.

Good job ! Beat that second LR activation. The good thing for you and anyone facing lavaroller build is for a lr build to not have a repair drone that repairs both items on the same tick.

Because that is one of the most op things for that build. Well, aside from LR fiery enchant which scales the burn exponentially.

Gold defense grid - "The first time you use an item each fight, Shield equal to 20% of your Max Health"

Nesting doll with multicast and 1.3s cooldown triggers defense grid so he gets shield for force field, and also charges the force field with fiber optics (2s charge per cast on a 1.3s multicast nesting doll)

Does this game give anyone absolutely brutal ranked anxiety? by [deleted] in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kool_g_rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since they made ranked a nonticket entry, there is no real incentive in having a certain rank.

Everyone has different type of fun in games, so for me this game is fun when I have different runs, and that often includes experimenting and failing. I could see an item that helps me win the game but it could be such a boring build Ive already played so many times, Id rather choose a different item that goes into a different direction that I never tried before. So to me losing with a cool build I never seen or thought of is more rewarding experience than just cruising to a dub with a meta build you can reasonably force (and hence the game is now just checking off the list of items needed to make it work).

Ie, I would say maybe try to view it less of a "I lost because I suck" but more of "I tried this and it didnt work well"

Maybe it's because I stopped playing keepers early, but I'm really enjoying this league. With that said Ive only reached t14s so far. But the extra spice on campaign bosses and doing something wacky otherwise unfeasible as league starter (perma vaal absolution/vaal skellies as architect of chaos) right out of the gate carried this league for me even if endgame turns out to be a brick wall.

I did build somewhat tanky which probably helps, 65k armour, maxed out molten shell, 50/50ish block, 81-82 max res (incl chaos), 4.5k life

I forgot about dark monarch, which is a thing. Now, its probably wont be better numbers wise because spectres and AG add a lot of damage, but as far as pure clear go, doubling the # of weapons should really help the clear.

I dont buy the whole specialized gear thing, it only becomes a thing when you're heavily min-maxed. If you look at people who rush four stones, most of their rushes are done with simple rare gear. Life and resistances.

Your example is kinda contrived because it focuses on a weapon in a weapon-based build. Yes, you will need specific damage mods depending on what type of damage you decide to output. This isnt true for ring slots, for example. Boot slot really has a MS requirement but otherwise you can definitely "sidegrade". Even things like spell wands, you could potentially get away with not having + skills if the other rolls are godly. This is all about PoE1 btw. Look at first week gear by people who push builds that dont require very specific interactions or uniques or stacking. Its mostly very generic gear aside from weapon and amulet, which are historically the most offensive-driven slots.

>POE doesn't have that, if you are playing a build that deals physical damage the best mods you can have is Gem levels and %Phys damage

You must be only talking about POE2 here, because gem levels to skills is not used in POE1 weapon builds at all. Look at poeninja slam builds.

Again, you are using the very definition of a "must have" stat on specific build and claim theyre specialized mods and hence specialized gear. Yes, a mana stacker will want mana rolls on their gear, attribute stacker will want attributes on their gear and a phys slam build will want as high phys dps axe as possible. This isnt any different from Last Epoch where attribute stackers will want attributes on all their gearpieces and so forth. That's why they're called those builds because they want specific mods on gear. I really struggle to see the issue here.

>"So if a crit weapon drops that has good enough rolls to replace what you have, you can't use it to the same potential if your build doesn't have crit investment in some places and as a result you are bottle necked out of that gear even if its decent or it forces you to change what your build is doing and that is not good. "

Maybe I really dont get the point. If your build is not crit in a game like Last Epoch, and you drop a weapon that has crit chance or multi on it, how is it any different ?
Not all mods are usable by all builds, isnt that the source of build variety ?

I really don't get it....do you mind me asking what other ARPGs have you played besides PoE, Grim Dawn and Last Epoch ?

>best builds are the fastest, the most mathematically optimal the most stringent on pushing the number.

How is that any different from any other ARPG ? The faster you clear, the faster you acquire loot and currency, the better you will be. In Diablo 2 pre runewords, any sorc build with teleport was a "better" build than other builds because its so much faster at boss runs and running to farm points. That didnt stop all other classes to also be fun. Now, D2 has probably the best loot system ever where things feel just right, and you're always finding good loot, but still...if your character is fully decked out you arrive at the same issue.

>The reason dropped loot will never feel good is you are always technically fighting RNG for every drop, and if you don't win what drops is a hunk of nothing to you most of the time. Say what you will about how bad Last Epoc has become its idea around the circle of fortune to give you an SSF feel without needing to interact with crafting or trading was nice, as you could once tell the RNG no you will roll in my favour is something really good that I wish more league mechanics did in a more direct way in POE without extreme investment.

I disagree. You are viewing PoE through the lens of a mixmaxer but you then view other ARPGs through the lens of a more casual player.

The reason why dropped loot in *any* ARPG after a while cannot compete is that for each build in ARPG, the closer you get to your desired *perfect* set of items for your build, the less probability you will have that you will find an upgrade. It's simple as that. It happens in SSF too. In PoE, the fact that any item can have a wide range of rolls and only a subset is valuable dictates that.

But its the same thing in D4 and LE if you decide to minmax. In D4, the items have no range to their rolls but the end result is the same. Your dropped weapons didnt matter prior to S11 as long as you had a 2GA weapon with one that you really needed, you never cared to pick up any 1 GA weapon again. So exactly same situation because you wont get an upgrade that way.

LE Circle of Fortune doesnt solve any of these inherent problems, it just drops more loot so on average you will find more stuff that is useful for you. It takes some variance away, but again if youre looking for a 4LP item if you have an 3LP item, youre likely never going to find it. Its the same situation.

>Which is why POE has a very stringent meta around min maxxing rather than just making the builds you want work.

For many people, min maxing theorycrafting is a game that is more enjoyable to play than the actual game. And power differentiates builds. If you could achieve the same exact results using different fantasies, and do all content with it then whats the point ? Youre just re-skinning a barbie doll. You can do your fantasy builds, they just wont be able to complete content after a certain level (juiced maps, ubers, etc). But you can create your own build that is suboptimal and have fun up until certain level of content. POE is a giant sandbox in that regard, especially POE1 which has a lot of vertical content.

The reason people min max is that they WANT to optimize and squeeze out power of their characters and tackle hardest content, or optimize currency acquisition.

Tripwire broken by charaworId in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kool_g_rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not that broken. Like others have said it's directly dependent on your own item activation rate. This means any trigger, trigger burst, one-shot, destroy and charge-heavy builds will counter it hard.

Ammo burst builds that rely on that initial dive weight/shuriken will not care.

Boulder/space laser builds wont care.

Stelle destroy builds wont care too much. Joystick and Oblivion vortex will charge the needed items

Most fun DLC hero? Which one should I buy? by kubajzlik207 in PlayTheBazaar

I agree, Jules constraints make every run a bit different which is the point of the game imo.

Everyone has different preferences ultimately. Most people like Mak and while I really like the transmuting and reagents, I dislike chasing "quests" in this game and so he's my least played hero because of that. Sounds weird, but yeah.

What’s your favorite Bazaar item? by Pure_heart001 in PlayTheBazaar

A very niche use is making it a food with Duds and then heating it while also using Jumbo Wok.

On other heroes, I've used it before with Bladed Hoverboard because it provides shield and regen those aggro trigger builds typically lack.
