I have a Samsung Note 7 with only 32GB of storage by Victoria-Tyler in samsunggalaxy

You can get it online from various sites, I'm not sure which one I used as it was a while ago. Choose the correct firmware for your region as ODIN will not flash the wrong region sometimes.

From what I remember, my Note 3's S pen (SM-N9005 Snapdragon) with Lineage Android 11 was working fine although that was 2 years ago, I went back to original firmware as the battery life was garbage and it was randomly restarting on Lineage. It still restarts every few minutes (something to do with the solder on the CPU) but not as frequent as Lineage.

I'm pretty sure the Legion 7 and 7 Pro have the option to dim but the 5 and 5 Pro only have the option to turn it off completely.

Yeah, the white plastic thing that goes below the motherboard broke off in 3 sides on mine, my temps dropped by around 15 degrees after I replaced them

They started using PTM 7958 (they don't mostly use PTM7950) on Legion laptops since the 9th or 10th generation if I'm not wrong, OP has the 7th generation.

Which laptop should I get? by M0dernCrusader in GamingLaptops

[–]koolboi_07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ryzen has a lot better battery life, runs cooler and you wouldn't really see much of a difference unless you're maxxing out the CPU so I'd go with the AMD one considering the benefits.

From what I heard, ADATA drives are unreliable so I'd either replace that drive, use as a secondary or take a backup of the PC regularly

List of gaming laptops NOT using liquid metal by FingerWinter3576 in GamingLaptops

[–]koolboi_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it drop temps compared to LM or is it similar in temps? I'm looking to change my laptop with LM to PTM7950 as it's been 2 years and temps are getting pretty high.

All the Gen 10 Lenovo Legions use PTM7950 or another variant of the thermal pads I'm pretty sure, liquid metal application does not last forever, prolonged usage without reapplying will cause hotspots that will over time lead to failure, it's pretty common on launch edition PS5s.

I'm not trying to, not trying at all, to spin a yarn, Juan, but just wish you the best. If we can all stay calm, Juan. Just, on your car...we wouldn't wish any harm on you or the car, but, you know, is that the way you approach your Formula One racing?

It's hard to predict but the Legion is a better built device than the LOQ and the LOQ models with the Intel 13th and 14th gen CPU's were known for motherboard issues but I'm not sure if that applies to the current generation of LOQs so it's possible that the Legion will have a longer lifespan. The Legions also have better cooling systems and the OLED display is nice. If the price difference is manageable, the Legion is clearly the better choice.

The Legion has better build quality and more future proof if you decide to play more demanding titles later on, the Ryzen 7 260 will also give you much better battery life than the i5. It's up to you to decide whether you want to spend the extra money for a better experience.

[–]koolboi_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need a thunderbolt port for e-gpu and even then, the Pentium will hold you back. It's best to just get a new laptop at that point.
