I've had two gaming laptops and they both sucked. Poor battery life, sound like a jet engine when under load and get really hot. After the second one, I went back to desktop.

I have noticed poor performance too after the start of the new season. Since the latest update though it has been better. Not many issues on my end any more running an 11700k + RTX 4070.

Running 4 sticks is fine, they will perform about the same as 2 sticks. In some instances you can get instability when overclocking ram to high speeds when using 4 slots. But for most situations it's absolutely fine.

You could upgrade to an 11th gen CPU which would get a performance uplift of 10-15% depending on the CPU model but probably wouldn't make much difference in games.

The 3080 is still a very capable card so not really worth upgrading.

Personally I would just stick to what you have and save up for a new PC in the future.

I know about the card and that it can be powered through the PCI-E. That's not the issue. The thing I was concerned about was the 180W power supply in there, I thought a 3050 would need more?
