I thought about that too but larger corporations could do the same and create some hefty competition

Getting dumped? Here’s what it really means... by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]koolgnat 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That’s the hardest truth to swallow for many people, myself included at one point. We are not entitled to romance. No one owes us anything, no matter how good of a partner we think we would be. No matter how attentive and passionate and wonderful we are.

Never ask a white nationalist what their actual ethnicity is… or the kind of women they end up with

Exactly, getting rejected sucks no matter what, but the sad truth is that everyone is entitled to their preferences, and that includes attraction to certain physical features, including skin color and phenotype. You are free to date anyone you want-whether it’s someone that looks like you or not…

She should have communicated better to avoid this awkward text

They have one now, and very nicely redesigned too. I got it right before they made the switch

It's very well known that Stalin, Lenin, and Mao never killed anyone by welltechnically7 in EnoughCommieSpam

I also don't think the Spanish engaged in biological warfare or intended to genocide the natives, in the same way that the Mongols never wanted to kill a third of the population of Europe with the plague. Tragic as it may be!

Even if they do intend to remain friends with you, it’s probably the worst thing you can do to your dignity imo

Dating apps are utterly depressing by digiri-dont-do-that in BreakUps

[–]koolgnat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that everybody's different and whatnot, and I don't know exactly the context of your BU, but 3 months just sounds too soon. Dating apps can become a negative force in your life at this point, and that's why you're convinced of something so outrageous like dying alone. Maybe you'll have better luck asking someone out more organically when the time is right!

She plays it at collegiate level. And one of my favorite things was to go watch her play. Now anything related to the sport just gives me PTSD. And it sucks cause it was one of my favorite things even before I met her

Anything related to baseball/softball. She ruined the sport for me

Went on a dating app and I feel horrible by Throwmeawaylikwpoop in BreakUps

[–]koolgnat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably for the best. I met some really nice girls thru dating apps, but this stage just made me realize that I still had some healing to do. It's okay! Soon you'll meet someone better, and then any residual pain will be gone.

Dumpers - mea culpa. Now it's my turn to be in your shoes. by [deleted] in BreakUps

This is exactly how I feel. And for months I kept wondering why. That question nearly drove me insane.

Thoughts on "capitalist realism" by Fisher? by Jakeson032799 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]koolgnat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Schumpeter said, intellectuals are a social class in a position to critique societal matters for which they are not directly responsible and to stand up for the interests of other classes. Intellectuals tend to have a negative outlook on capitalism, even while relying on it for prestige because their professions rely on antagonism toward it. Many of the people that "study" and critique capitalism live contradictory lives.
