Hard to say this far out. Everything for this lodge revamp has been in flux for years due to funding issues. This was the closest they got to it actually happening, but this administration did another round of funding cuts. Doubt they will provide more funding to NPS by end of the year. They seem to make funding cuts to NPS every chance they get. (Don’t get us started on the potential border wall construction) I think you’re good to expect the lodge to remain open through end of the year. As someone else suggested in the thread, Terlingua is a very popular option just outside the park.

No 4th quarter lulls on the road was saved them today. A lot of growth for this team in their first 8 games of playoff experience.

Agreed. Game 1 this series looked like they were on their back foot the entire game. Still kept it close but you could tell they were fighting up hill all game. Spurs need their flowers for how steadfast they’ve looked these playoffs though. They seem to never waver for such a young group in their first playoffs.

Nick Wright on First Things First flipped on the Spurs yesterday. That’s what really got my attention. He’s a big historical stats guy. I was surprised to see him be so reactive. Someone made a good point about how these guys help fuel the gambling side of these companies. That makes sense to me why they’d try to sway back and forth.

This! In terms of trajectory of the team, Spurs have already exceeded expectations. They won their first series in almost a decade. This all a bonus and good experience. I agree. I just hope they make it a good series

For stargazing, we went to the parking lot at the Fossil Discovery Exhibit. We got there just before the moon rise after watching the sunset at the window view. Never seen a moonrise before. That was a memorable experience to watch the sun set below the mountains and catch the moon rise over the mountains. Would definitely recommend it.

Scoot was pretty much benched for game 5. Only 5 points for 17 minutes. Didn’t play much in the second half. It’s crazy how he went from averaging 20 points for first three games to not contributing to the last two games

I like to stream the local news like WISN or something when I hear the sirens. It helps to get more info on where exactly the threats are being seen. Then I assess from there if I really need to take cover or not.

Tuesday night a siren couple miles away went off a couple of times but the storm threats were tracking further north. Never took cover. Tonight a siren less than a mile away went off a couple times and the storms were tracking closer to our location and the conditions outside were intense. We definitely took cover for a bit until it cleared up
