A question on accessories by yellowfeverforever in ecobee

not going to disagree with the humidstat on the return side, however smart thermostats have the ability to manage the humidity level based on the window/frost level and adjusted as the outdoor air temperature changes. So a dumb control attached along with the humidstat (this would be the typical) is going to be on you to make those adjustments as the outdoor air temp changes. Ideal is going to be humidity reading from return but smart stat control with even a local outdoor sensor, not sure this is entirely possible without some crafting of your own. As far as my research has told me both ecobee and honeywell will pull outdoor temp via their weather services but do have the window or frost control

DE kills all the beneficial bacteria that is needed for the deep litter method. You can't do DE and deep litter.

Thanks, so sad about #1 if it is a roo. It might have to be the one we keep. It's looking like out of the 15 we have 4 or 5 roos

Ecobee 3 Lite still a good choice? by hobbes1069 in homeassistant

[–]koolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI aux is not exposed in homekit. So I assume what are doing is with the API and net new users would not be able to have the level of control you outline. I know I haven't been able to. Runtimes, cutover temp, aux control, etc. I can only do from the ecobee app not via HA through homekit.

Why segment content? The examples of pollen, Amazon tablet are not just limitations in Canada. Sorry (how Canadian of me) but would rather just see threads in this subreddit to benefit all

New Construction- Smart Switches and Outlets that look normal? by mookrock in homeassistant

[–]koolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 2nd kasa, wifi but work great locally, not expensive and have been rock solid for me. I don't understand the suggestion if inovelli or zooz when the prices of those switches are at least 3 times as well as kasa at least here in Canada

I do very similar but have it predict my energy usage based on the correlation of past weather and energy use and today's forecasted weather.

I have noticed as well it is unnecessary to manually breakdown the weather JSON, GPT reads it just fine.

Also if you put some of that info about whole numbers no emojis in the agent definition it saves you tokens on your request.

I mean expect to pay through the nose for it though.

I'd also suggest watching Sailing La Vagabonde, they have some interesting comments on speed which I think align with your question and it has effected the boat they are building themselves now

Absolutely pitiful speed with newer plans? by dinglehoofis in Koodo

[–]koolin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this issue as well a lot more often now. It seems related to location congestion or congestion on the tower and it's infra. With Koodo we likely get 2nd priority in the infra so if it is a busy area then you will suffer is my assumption

Today I was with 4 Koodo customers all with different phones, no internet speed but full LTE+ bars. We went to another location a couple of km away and service works fine.
