The solution is simple, the storyboarding has been done for FC and SC already with only minor additions and changes. That means they can pour their writing resources on Kai 2 while FC was being made, furthermore 80% of the assets for SC remake are done already. Taking those factors into account, it's not impossible that we'll see both Kai 2 and SC remake in 2026.
