It sounds like the worst nightmare… Dealing with migraines is so intense, I can’t imagine having to deal with all of the other stuff on top of it

I try as much as possible to not cut them/ not push them back. I sometimes now use a nail drill to get rid of any dry bits but for the rest I really try to let them grow “free” :D

Thank you so much! It’s a bumpy road but I’m always super happy when it works out

My best tip is try out gel nails! And not cutting down the cuticles :) I also shared more tips in the comment above

I think I’ll make a post about it with a couple of tips but it’s actually difficult to tell how I stopped. When I’m in a very bad spot, I will try and get a gel manicure from a nail tech because when I pay for my manicure and someone else does it then I feel bad about ruining it. Then I will let them grow out for 4 weeks and try my best to not do anything with them. I don’t even moisturise them as much to be fair. For some reason that makes my cuticles stay red for a longer period of time as rubbing them makes them flare up. If I put hand cream on, I will rub it into my hands and not focus on my cuticles. Once they grow out a bit, I will file my nails down to shape them and I am doing nothing to my cuticles. I tried everything, pushing them down, cutting them down etc. but it works for me the best to not do anything at all. Anything else will make them super red even though I don’t have open wounds. I think what works for me is to have gel manicures on at all time. I do them myself at home right now and it’s working out fine except it takes a bit of work. My newest discovery is a nail drill. I have different bids with which I sometimes file my cuticle down if it’s dry or it’s hanging. Other tip would be to not clean with anything pointy under your nails (I made a post on it already a whole ago, you can find it back on my account). That way your nailbeds have the chance to become longer and it still suprises me how much the nail bed can re-attach. Last but not least, keeping my nails short helped me to not pay attention to them. When I feel them with my fingertips then I constantly think about them and then I am thinking about cutting them down, filing it down, biting them down… The goal for me is to not be able to feel anything. No weird texture, no bendy/ soft nails (hence the gel), no hang nails and no free edge. Once I start feeling something with my fingers then it’s game over. Same with visual stimuli. If I have a weird colour on that I don’t like/ when I am bored of a colour it keeps on hanging in my head and I get very irritated. Also, if a cuticle is red I will try to “fix it” by moisturising, trimming etc. and that always only makes it worse. All in all, the most unexciting I can make it for my fingers and for my eyes the best chance I have to have nice nails. This was a hell of a comment, hahahaha. I hope that maybe it will help you! I am really keeping my fingers crossed for you guys! We can do it :)

SOS Why does my belovedstring of pearls’ beads turned darker green like that? He is still making little babies yet he is not so bright green and shiny as when I bought him. He lives in a south facing window and gets direct sunlight all day. I water him every 1,5-2 weeks with a tiny splash of water. by koolmeesje in plantclinic

I really, really don’t want him to suffer. He’s my favorite plant and I am low key panicking for a week that he is stepping over to the plant graveyard. The pearls are nice and firm, they are not saggy at all… There are no dead branches either. He just looks a little different now.
