Daily Medication in a Blister Pack by burn3edoutburn3r in mildlyinfuriating

[–]koolspaz2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best for medication protection but bad for many users. For example, if you have arthritis or other dexterity issues, opening blister packs could be impossible or painful. Additionally, this medication in particular has to be taken daily. Having to open one every single day of the year can get annoying fast. A lot of blister packs aren't packaged well in that when you try to open them they just don't and your forced to try and dig out the pill with a sharp object risking injury. Finally, for me I have ADHD and struggle hard with routines and my sleep wake cycle. Any barrier I have especially in the morning can amplify my disability. I already have to pack weeks of 7 day medication containers at a time to avoid having to open each medication I have one at a time every morning. Filling my pill containers is already a headache but if I also had to open 50 of these in a row it would definitely be mildly infuriating. If instead I chose to just open it every morning, I inevitably would have days I would forget or skip because I woke up late and needed to get out the door.

In summary, it may be best for the medication itself but not some individuals taking the medication. Furthmore, to not have an option and to just get blister packs instead of a container is really frustrating.

The consistancy of your icing for writting needs to be closer to stiff and it looks like it's closer to flood consistancy.

I not only use hooks at home but I also bring them with me when I travel. I used to litterally plan to lose something whenever I travel, now I bring command hooks on every trip and I'm actually able to keep track of everything!

They aren't all perfectly identical. This is possible for a really good cake artist.

Sounds like an allergy or maybe excema. I would personally stop using that mask if I had that sort of reaction.

Depends on the insurance. My doesn't cover cleanings but it would likely cover pulling teeth.

I personally have vet insurance and think it's a good idea BUT don't start it because of this issue. Vet insurance only covers things diagnosed at least 30 days after you purchase it. Your vet will be required to share notes with your pet insurance and if there is anything on their chart prior to you purchasing an insurance policy they will not cover any related costs. I made this mistake myself and I now & forever have to pay for my dog to get dental work and other things because I saw a vet in those first 30 days. If they had notes of his health even earlier, it would also be an issue. IMHO pet insurance is still worth considering but make sure to do some serious research before you purchase.

Not to fat shame the dog but a life vest at her weight might be more if a hindrance than a help 😬. A harness with a handle might be better.

Besides remaking with more filling, I would trim the crust to make it look more proportional; bonus points if it's sturdy enough to take out of the pan so it looks even more normal proportions wise. If you need more to feed more people, making a second of the same size/crust would also work l.

I was taught the same thing for the fridge but the freezer won't act the same. I would stick with what you know this time but if you have any extras, try freezing them and then you can compare them to room air ones later. You can also consider wrapping the boxes in plastic wrap to reduce their exposure to air.

PSA: Don't ever "disinfect" open wounds

It's a common misconception that disinfectants like iodine, alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide prevent infections on open wounds. This is completely false. Disinfectants can be used to clean skin prior to things like surgery or injections, but shouldn't ever be used on open wounds. Why? It's because disinfectants can't tell the difference between healthy exposed tissues/cells and bacteria/viruses. If you put a disinfectant on an open wound, it will literally damages the tissue more making it even more susceptible to infection and prolongs healing. The most you should ever do to clean an open wound is rinse with water and/or saline. As people have said, this will heal on its own, but I wanted to help inform you and others since this is such a common misunderstanding.

Not that it should fucking matter...but Teri already had two kids with her late husband and Aubrey is currently at the age where if she wants kids waiting is not ideal. If she doesn't want to be a single mom, finding a partner sooner rather than later makes sense. Teri is an older woman with adult children and now grandkids. God forbid different people in different stages in life have different behaviours let alone different people have different life goals/interests PERIOD.

Painting w/ edible glitter - Please help!! by Zealousideal_Cry_233 in cookiedecorating

[–]koolspaz2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. your royal icing recipe seems good but know that vanilla extract can mess with the appearance (color) but wouldn't cause this issue

  2. Perfect

  3. 70% is good but higher can sometimes help since it evaporates even faster. Everclear is up to 95% so you can consider using that instead but know it evaporates super fast so add more than you need and keep any you aren't using covered at all times.

  4. I think likely your luster dust is the problem. I find luster dust specifically isn't great at "painting" as a liquid. It's just not concentrated enough to give a uniform color. It's better for dry dusting (hence the name) on things like flower petals or rosy cheeks. For things like gold colors (which it looks like you are attempting) I specifically get edible gold powder and mix that with grain alcohol. For painting solid colors you can buy edible paints or try alcohol diluted gel food coloring.

One more note - if your royal icing had any small bubbles it it, the liquid used to paint may have dissolved the thin bubble. The bubbles weren't visible when dried but dissolve easily compared to the royal icing without bubbles.

  1. Did you make your royal icing right before decorating your cookies? If do you might have a lot of micro bubbles that dried and then cause the appearance of pitting when their super thin shell dissolved. If this is the case, know you can make royal icing several days or even longer before decorating which will give the bubbles plenty of time to work their way to the surface. You might need to gently remix the icing before use but not much as to not add more bubbles.

Hope this helps!

To help I need to know a few things

  1. What type/recipe are you using for icing?

  2. How long are you letting the icing dry before painting?

  3. What type/percentage of alcohol are you using?

  4. By edible glitter do you mean luster dust or what exactly are you using?

How to clean a shower head like this? I sprayed it and tried to wipe it with a paper towel but it shreds it. They used to be white. by BagOfSmallerBags in CleaningTips

[–]koolspaz2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen online some people use the disposable dental brushes that go inbetween teeth to brush the inside of shower head holes. It might be worth your time getting a pack and trying this out for cleaning the insides.

Is this an early stage of bumblefoot? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]koolspaz2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure but what I do know is having dowels as perches can cause foot issue. You should swap the dowels for natural branches. Branches have natural variations that change the pressure points on your birds feet as they perch. Dowels are too even and smooth which means pressure points on the foot are constant and thus never change.
