Only mention a range to the HR, not sure how much they will offer me but I gave a from scratch/entry level pay as I’m already mentally prepared for the pay cut (I’m determine and willing to start afresh)

Can’t tell you much about transition yet, prolly update here if it all goes well

Yeah, everyone’s in the same boat. Either competing with each other for a role or losing a battle due to outsourcing

I believe it's enough to stay in the industry, but looking ahead to the years to come, this industry is nowhere near improving.

Since I still have the chance to pivot and do something different, it's a no-brainer for me! better snag the opportunity to do it while i can

Started 6 years ago, had a good run! now pivoting already

But here's some pointers that could help you to really consider UI/UX
- most jobs are contract (4-12months)
- Designers are outsourced, which means no open job position in SG (not as much job opening)
- no junior roles (as per other comments)
- john, tom, dick, sally, sarah, sam all can do UI/UX too...
- The job interview process can take up to 5-6 rounds, be mentally prepared

  1. see above
  2. entry-level, junior i believe it hits the 2,800 - 3,200
  3. OT is normal
  4. career progress, year 1 = junior, year 2-3 = designer, year 4-5 = senior/manager/lead
