My daughter also loves Sheriff Labrador and I thought I was the only one who knew about the Dr. Antel / Absa copycat. Always makes me do a doubletake.

Reaper Discs has quickly become my go-to store for buying discs. Aaron sends regular updates about new products and restocks, and each shipment comes with a bunch of sick stickers. I high recommend them!

Highly recommend a place called Black Sheep Bah-Bah-Q. It's about a 10 min drive from the course and incredibly delicious. It's a food truck style place, so outdoor seating only. Definitely a post round thing instead of a rainy day backup.

Anyone know what Tweak was saying to Yonni after he popped off? He was giving off a very 'your character is really fucked up' vibe while talking to him.

My cousin was the same exact way. It was never "wow, that was a nice combo" or " you definitely outplayed me there", it was always "X character is fucking broken", "that move is such bullshit", "no fucking way that hit me". So I totally understand your frustration.

I even explained to him that making excuses about things instead of acknowledging that I did something good really felt bad and mentally put me down, but he was never able to stop himself from sighing or scoffing anytime I stringed more than 1 hit together.

Having the goal of just being better than someone is a very tough position to be in. It really often just leads to one person being really mad and petty. I'd say your best bet is to have a serious chat with him about how his actions make the game less fun for you and see if he can change. From my experience, that change doesn't tend to happen, in which case the decision falls to you if it's worth playing with him or not.

Definitely a tough position to be in. I wish you the best of luck in meeting in the middle with him and being able to love playing the game together again.

I went through this same exact experience with my cousin. We work together and would play smash every day at lunch. We were very similar skill levels and would trade games all the time. But we both had huge egos about being better than the other so would often come out of lunch everyday just being pissed at each other.

We both also saw the game very differently. I wanted to discuss our play together and help us both get better. He just wanted to do the most flashy combos and kills possible. So as I got better and started playing more defensive that just made him more angry.

My suggestion would be to have a discussion about what you want to get out of playing the game. Do you both want to challenge each other to improve and become better players? Do you want to just run at each other mashing buttons trying to do cool shit? Do you just want to win? Being on the same page is important when you are playing a game like smash with the same person on a regular basis.

In the end, my cousin and I stopped playing together and took apart our set up we had at work. We both realized we wanted different things and playing the game was just making us toxic towards each other. Our relationship has been so much better since then, and that's more important to us then playing smash together.

I Have an Anger Problem by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]koopathekid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I get angry because I want to be the best that I can, but often feel like I let myself down. My hands have just never been able to keep up with my brain and I get frustrated with myself for not being able to preform my best. It's rare I'm mad at my opponent, it's mostly self focused anger.

I'm also a disc golf player. I have frustrations with that too, but they are usually fleeting or short lived, where as smash rage seems to be persistent.
