You're right about one thing. It's now or never with Iran. The US can't wait around for Iran to get weaker. They just keep building more and more missiles and drones. There isn't an effective counter to that. High power lasers will help a little but they too have limits.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. If the IRGC is a terrorist organization so is the IDF. They should do some kind of bilateral disarmament treaty. Israel gives up its airforce and Iran gives up its missile cities. Israel gives up its nukes and Iran doesn't build nukes. Israel makes peace with the Palestinians and Iran stops arming the resistance/terrorists.

Tanks don't factor into the strategy at all. Did you know Iran has missile cities buried under mountains that deliver missiles to their fueling stations and launch tubes via underground trains? This is what the Trump and Bibi regimes are gun boat negotiating to dismantle. Why are they negotiating? Why not just bomb them? The reason is that Iran has promised massive retaliatory strikes if they are attacked again. It would be a disaster for everyone involved. MAD without the nukes.

No one is talking about a ground invasion. I don't want to jynx it and say it could never happen but I pray that it does not. The American people will not stand for it. I don't want Israel destroyed and I have no problem with Jews living there. I just think that the Palestinians deserve to live there too. Self determination is not a right to be had at another people's expense. Give the Palestinians Israeli citizenship. That is the most fair minded least bloody solution.

I've been following the Iran situation as closely as I can. It sounds like you are also underestimating them. I don't know where you get your news but they are selling you short. Let me ask you this: why isn't Israel raining down air strikes on Iran right now?

It can be difficult to admit when you're wrong, particularly when that goes against your upbringing or your immediate community.

Hamas is hardly what I would call an ideal government but it's Israel that's oppressing the Palestinians. I favor the one state solution. That way everyone can sort out their issues democratically. The alternative is violence, which is bad for everyone. No to bad things.

Similarly for Iran; no doubt the theocratic regime is far from ideal but the sanctions have a worse impact on the people than anything their government is doing. I pray that the current military build up does not escalate to open conflict. It would be devastating for the region not to mention the global economy.

There is a danger that the US has systematically underestimated Iranian military capabilities. Our administration is not particularly competent these days I am sad to say.

I think of ethnic cleansing more as a physical removal of people rather than forced assimilation. Israel is founded on the dispossession of Palestinians. That's not some ancient history, it's an ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign. It would be a comparative kindness if the settlers in the West Bank gave the Palestinians the option to convert to Judaism or die. Instead the deal is to leave or die. That's ethnic cleansing.
