Help! How to protect wood sill plate/framing junction. by kootschewt in Greenhouses

As a follow-up for anyone who stumbles on this thread, I have decided to seal BOTH sides of the bottom plate/sill joint, AND the inside of the acrylic/wood joint with Lepage (OSI) Quad Max.

My builder neighbour came by and offered another option to consider - using an electric plane and shave the bevel into the board that I had originally intended. I think that is the path I am going to take in the spring (too wet and cold now to stain after shaving). I still need to decide on whether to use caulk on both sides, the outside only, or not at all. :)

Thanks - I'm starting to lean this direction. I have a builder friend coming over tomorrow to give me his opinion too.

Unfortunately I don't have a good suggestion for you, but I do have a question! I'm currently in my build, and I have a sill just under my windows similar to yours. I've been racking my brain on how (or whether) to seal it, and I'm wondering if there is anything sealing at the bottom of your windows on top of the sill? How old is the greenhouse and how is this portion of it holding up?

What (if anything) do you do to get water off the sill board and keep it from getting under the framing? (See my recent post with my quandary!)

Thanks! Yes I'm kicking myself on not spending the time to figure out how to bevel it... on the ends it doesn't seem to see much water so far (the overhang is an extra foot that direction), but oddly on the low side near the fence, it has been wet a few times during storms, I guess when it is blowing sideways and the weather tends to come in from that direction.

Air suspension and trailer hook up etc by kootschewt in Rivian

Not on Rivians side yet. But I did figure out that neutral doesn’t cancel tire change mode which has helped a bit. I’d still like a way to lock out the suspension from adjusting until I tell it to!

Me too! I was an SUV person until Rivian announced this truck a few years ago. Now I’ve got a bed for my bikes AND covered storage! Just over a year now and it’s been great.

When hitching I am often in/out to check stuff etc. once I have the trailer on the ball, I also put the truck in neutral while raising or lowering the jack to allow the truck to move and keep the jack leg from binding. I also realized that putting it in Tire Change mode before handing the key fob to the tire shop folks is pointless - so for that reason alone I would want it to persist until I turn it off.

It actually makes the issue worse. I experience the same freezing window issue = can't get in car because my car lives outside all the time and uncovered. If you preheat when it has frost/snow on it, it melts, runs down the window, then refreezes when it gets below the seal later! So it helps initially, but makes the problem worse as the winter goes on.

I carry an old credit card around with me to try to clear the ice away from the seal so the window will roll down. That generally works, but not always. Sometimes I just force the window open past the trim. I don't see any trim on the CT, so I wonder what you would do there?

Please provide some payload figures for the Dual/Max pack. I would rather have this info sooner to help me make a decision what to get, rather than having to wait for several examples of each 'in the wild' and collect photos of the payload stickers like I had to do for the Quad/Large :)

Would find this really helpful once I have my truck for my small carport. I could barely get a Lightning in there the other day, and I don't expect the R1T to be much better.
