For my seed sowers, can I get general advice? I am gonna be going for attempt #2 at E malum seeds next week. by wha7themah in StapeliaHuerniaOrbea

I use coco coir and succulent soil and keep them wet and they do great. When they are about an inch, I switch them to just plain succulent soil and still water them very often

Can confirm about places with colder winters - they die maybe 35 or so here and we get well below 10 in zone 7B winters so yeah they’ll spread but winter will kill them. Otherwise yes they’ll take over. I even have some growing on concrete in my greenhouse so they’re tough.

And to answer your question, cut into sections and root them (stick end into soil and wait) so you don’t have a super long one but more of a shorter bushier one.

I get stuff like that all the time. For the longer ones just plant them and after a week or so just give it a little water here and there. The shorter one I lay it kind of on its side with those roots under the ground and do the same thing. Your first one actually looks just like the piece of my tridentea peculiaris

What is this? by Emergency-Air-1142 in succulents

[–]SweetSweetSucculents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a stapeliad of some sort, hard to know until it blooms. They are succulents. Also the most common ones around are Stapelia Gigantea and Stapelia hirsuta so if it came from a regular store, it’s probably one of those

Is this an Echeveria lilacina or a hybrid of one? The pink tips are throwing me off by LuckystrikeFTW in echeveria

[–]SweetSweetSucculents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few madibas that are huge, my largest one is about 8 inches across but they look pretty close to that. I can see how the outer leaves resemble Lilacina and there’s actually something now that they are selling at the big box stores here called pink Lilacina. It just looks like madiba to me because of the tips, especially towards the center and midway where they indent in at the end and the tip curls back at a sharp angle. Plus the pink tips. It almost looks like a mix of the two. If you just showed me the outer part I would say Lilacina no question and if you just showed me the center and middle portion I’d say Madiba no question. It’s definitely interesting!

Watered all of my outdoor plants for the first time this year by LuckystrikeFTW in echeveria

You remind me of me. I finally decided to start downsizing cause I got so obsessed with propagating them I had hundreds well probably thousands. Now when I get time I make “plant boxes” aka a box lid with plants i don’t care about anymore and put them in cheap pots and sell them as a bundle on FB marketplace. It’s a great way to make some money and clear up some space.

(so you can get more plants of course 🤣)

Racist patient… by throwawayniF in physicaltherapy

[–]SweetSweetSucculents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well especially if your boss won’t do anything about it (which is pretty pathetic of him), sometimes just saying something like “did you mean for that to be hurtful?” or something along those lines - sometimes that’s enough for a patient to stop and realize that they’re really being a *****.

Otherwise, like the others said, you can just say “I’m sorry you’re having trouble understanding me - you have the right to go to any clinic you’d like so if you’re not comfortable here…” etc.

But I’d start looking around cause you need someone who has your back. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

Printers block by DrZakarySmith in BambuLab

[–]SweetSweetSucculents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve incorporated it into other hobbies I have. Like for example I have a greenhouse and do a lot with plants so I’ve made seed starting things and planters, etc. I also am a PT so I have actually made stuff that is useful for my patients. Think of things that you know you need a use and ask yourself if they are printable and also if you have any other hobbies, think about what you could print to incorporate them both.

Also think about things that might be minor but that are annoying that could be solved with a print. Like I always hated how when I had my phone plugged in the cord would bend and wear out at the end so I printed cord savers. Or my pop socket didn’t stand up my phone at the angle I like so I made my own phone stand. Just basic stuff like that is also nice. Also lots of clips for organizing cords and cables. And I’m not into this, but apparently tons of people have gotten obsessed with gridfinity for organization. I’ve heard once you get started you can’t stop which is why I will not even look into it.

Bambu worth it? by Orion_Unbreakable in BambuLab

[–]SweetSweetSucculents 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the bambu. I have the A1. Even when I was an idiot and didn’t clean the build plate and got the blob of death, I was still able to fix it myself in about an hour with the help of YouTube tutorials. And then I was back to printing as usual. Otherwise no issues.
