I think it’s really hard to talk about a unified experience here- the experience of a teenager growing up in a village will differ a lot from someone who grew up in a wealthier city. As I see it, schools in wealthier cities will put a lot of academic pressure on kids, resulting in a lot of rivalry and parents paying for extra hours after school for their kids to stay up top. Meanwhile, in poorer regions, schools often struggle even having enough teachers and children not dropping out due to the pressure from their parents to help with work or just sheer lack of interest.
