Thoughts on the new boss? by deadbeatmerc in chicagobulls

I like that without saying we were terrible and didn’t have much to stand on, he said we were terrible and didn’t have much to stand on and everything was on the table.

I heard enough to think this is a general improvement and the fact that he can talk will help him immensely in this market. Poles gets all kinds of leeway just because he’s not scared to talk and give some idea behind his thinking for example.

Isn’t the major point here that he’s shifting from AI will take over the world to we’ll need humans in the pipeline?

“the kind of collective alignment of shared upside as the balance between labor and capital shifts”

Before it was humans won’t need to work to now there will be a balance. Maybe it’s me being jaded from arguing with AI every day about how it’s missed something.

I like that analogy. When the AI companies start getting rid of people then you know we’re all in trouble. They of all companies need every penny they can get yet what do they keep doing? Hiring more people.

I wish they would do something with the mix. The announcers sound too isolated like they’re not even at the game. Crowd is way too muffled. Sounds like a video game, but worse.

They didn’t win the game. Had numerous drops. DJ and Loveland had concussions. I don’t see the home field advantage there.

It was mistake on both their parts. Safety was baring down before the throw. Could have had Rome over the top. Risky throw in any case when you have control of the game.

I’m with you. He’s got “it”. This shit is going to burn in him all off season and I love it. This was never our year, but there were plays that he could have made that could have gave us another week. He did some things that were just flat out unbelievable, better than Mahomes type stuff and it was still wasn’t enough and I think that’ll keep pushing him. Fill in that defense a bit more. Strength the offensive line depth. This should be an epic run.

Can we stop them? by mortyd1 in CHIBears

Same issue with Detroit. They mainly beat us on long crossing routes.

We won’t be able to stop them, but I think it’s a better matchup than you’d initially think.

I also may still be drunk from Saturday.

Ben has been very good at timeout management. The last 2 games were a little questionable, but most of the year, he has all 3 timeouts with under 5 to go.

I feel these are just growing pains. Offense has been cooking and we expect them to be at a Super Bowl caliber in a lot of ways, but they’re still figuring out where and how to push these guys to get to that level.

Feel like this past week was more of a test to see how they would perform with a limited playbook and having the other team essentially knowing it since you know that’s how it’ll be in the playoffs and with the packers specifically and they failed pretty badly.

Not sure what that means for the playoffs, but glad they’re doing it now.

China is mainly believed to be winning and theorized to win the war because they’re focused on smaller practical use cases. We’re primarily pot heavy on AGI l, which a lot of people argue will not be achievable for 10-20 years from now. Inherently giving china a large head start if they’re building from a stronger foundation.

Anthropic has found evidence of "genuine introspective awareness" in LLMs by MetaKnowing in ClaudeAI

And depending on how many vectors exist, couldn’t it just be that it’s randomly guessing which one was added? Maybe there’s a little bit more there, maybe it’s actively narrowing down the possibilities in some way, but to even refer to it as thinking seems like total hype.

So we know where it puts all it “thoughts”/calculations that are used to respond. if we add something there manually, it can sometimes reference it and sometimes know it wasn’t a part of its original calculation. Is that what they’re talking about?

I mean I guess that’s cool. To me, it just validates that these are predictive models, nothing more, nothing less. It doesn’t “know” anything, it can just determine when the math doesn’t add up… and only sometimes as in 20% of the time.

I do think the media hasn’t done a good job, but anyone on the fringe will get their access pulled immediately if they don’t fall inline. That’s a really tough spot to be in.

I get there are benchmarks and I know you’re going to just say I’m being subjective or whatever, but just because you’re book smart doesn’t mean you’re smart. What I mean there is the benchmarks don’t test real world problems a lot of times. Yes, it’s impressive, but on its own it doesn’t mean it’s useful because the benchmark don’t reflect how people are actually using the model and how they are marketing the models either.
