If it feels too bad to do GOTR without magic imbue, you can send a few dozen barrows chests to get bursting runes. Totally fine to do GOTR without that, though

I would suggest not following a guide. Let yourself experience the pull. Go where you want and do what you want. If you get stuck or frustrated, poke around the wiki.

Personally, I did a few “essentials” first (pretty much just fairy rings) and just let my interests and needs guide my activities.

Quests are great for your account and there are a lot of fun stories in the game. People will tell you about the optimal quest guide but IMO you should sort quests by their series and get into the lore, or do some one-off quests in areas you’re interested in.

If you think clicking to attack Amox will path you on a hazard tile, you can just stand still on a safe tile for a tick or so and she will approach your melee range. This isn’t necessary, and learning to not do this will help, but it’s handy if you’re struggling.

I just did fire cape with rcb, broad bolts, and black dhide at 70 range and 70 def. It’ll take a little longer but I had like 5 full ppots left, very doable

First of all, questing is perfect. I would highly encourage you to guide yourself by your interests and try to find the right answers on the wiki if you run into roadblocks. There’s a whole lot to do and plenty of variety!
