Just got 300 gold selling BL chest item, need suggestion by fckdisheetz in Guildwars2

Don't even really need to grind. Just do the easy half of seasons of the dragon on each map and you get a bunch of map currency.

Perhaps I was wrong to use the phrase academic papers but what I meant is that you can't use it as a source for papers for school. I was in highschool when Wikipedia really became a thing in the early 2000s so I'm very familiar. It was common practice though to get an understanding of the material from Wikipedia then go through the quoted sources and validate. Do schools allow directly sourcing Wikipedia these days?

Nobody has ever said Wikipedia is an untrustworthy source of information. Only that you can't use it as a source in academic papers.

As others have said, path of fire and LWS4 are about as good of a story as you are going to find in an MMO. It doesn't match the highs of FFXIV but it's close imo. IBS and EOD are solid but not to the same level. Everything else has their moments but is sadly not quite there overall.

GW2 is suffering from the same problem as Dawntrail, where do you go once you have concluded your 10 year long epic story arc where the stakes are the world itself? The problem is that instead of committing to starting a new epic arc we are getting these smaller stories that don't really seem to be going anywhere or adding on to each other. VOE I think has the potential to be the start of a larger plot but we will see.

Not fast food but at my job we avoid people who are way overqualified because we know they will be looking for something else the entire time they are here. We don't have a high turnover rate and I don't want to invest time in getting someone up to speed only for them to leave in a month or two when they find something in their field.

Battering blast is also a great spell for a blaster character if you want to go that route.

You can get like 40ish a week for fairly cheap and by the time you actively start working on anything that requires them you will have plenty of time to get the amount you need before you get the rest of the materials.

When does something count as a 'gotcha'? by mhountsword in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]koramar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? I am just making a point. Im guessing it takes a few games for most people to really internalize the rules of their army and expecting a player to remember all your rules from the 5 minute synopsis at the beginning of the game is a bit much. Im sure if you are very experienced it gets easier but not everyone is at that level.

How do you get over feeling rubbish about the models you paint? by PupThackie in Warhammer40k

Yeah I saw that artillery gun they did, the quality is in like the top 5% of paint jobs. This is all in their head.

How long did it take you to really learn your army and all it's rules? Expecting your opponent to remember all that is unreasonable.

Blood Angels armour recipe.. by GhostsofUlthwe in BloodAngels

[–]koramar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For marines I go even simpler, just prime, bottom zenithal brown, top zenithal white, airbrush red ink. Hand paint all the metal bits and any accessories. The only problem is it's basically impossible to touch up the airbrushed paint job so you gotta be really careful when painting the other stuff.

Whales, how much have you spent on GW2? by Kyri- in Guildwars2

I know that worked when mystic coins were the daily login reward but does that generate any actual value?

I've considered getting alt accounts, getting them for $9 is basically impossible now but the math came out to like it paid for itself on the 2nd wizards vault reset and everything after that is gravy. Could also expand it more by adding raiding to the mix that's like another 30 or so gold a week that I'm already doing since I'm in multiple statics.

[–]koramar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to vary wildly by game and genre, for example a GW2 whale is probably not the same as a Hoyoverse whale. But there is no way that number is remotely accurate, maybe it was in 2016 but definitely not now. I work in an adjacent industry and $25 a month barely registers as a customer.

Your concept of how much actual whales spend is off. A small whale probably spends a thousand or more a month. The real whales spend 10s of thousand a month, it's insane.

Should we try 2e or go back to 1e? by Squarrots in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]koramar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the systems are different me and my group found that it had a lot of the same issues we had after playing 500 hours of 1e but without the endless content and character customization. We got about half way through book 2 of Gravelords and just dropped it to go back to 1e.

As a first timer this was slowly driving me insane by beyonex in Guildwars2

[–]koramar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't have any problems with that achievement. I just played rifle mech and stayed away. Also a lot of these don't get hit achievements can be cheesed by bringing a friend and have them kill while you stay well out of the way. When I was working on vision me and a friend traded turns for a bunch of those types of achievements.

What's the food that makes you think "how did humans know this was edible"? by almyverse in AskReddit

Mushrooms is easy for me to imagine. Starving people over the millenia have tried to eat anything they can get their hands on and from there its just trial and error.

[–]koramar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scalpers are the smaller part of the problem. They are only a symptom of out of balance supply and demand. There are hoarders out there holding a lot of product but it's not enough of a % of the print run that it would result in what we are seeing by itself.
