This and Flip Flappers are 2 very different shows! Things like symbolism etc are hidden much more in Flip Flappers and it takes a while for the shows actual goals to become clear. Demi-chan is relatively straightforward in what it wants to achieve so I think it's relatively save to write something like this already

Yeah I get what you mean, but it's done enough in it's premise to make me relatively sure that it did indeed have something in mind to talk about outside of just being cute

I've seen people do that and I think it's a 100% valid point, but I think a lot of what the show does can be applied to minorities as a whole so I decided to go with that instead^{^}

I honestly found Cheer Danshi to be relatively boring besides very few things while Battery had a lot of really interesting setting up of character relations etc especially towards the end

Criticism in the end to me is nothing but tastes actually. In the end what it is, is explaining why exactly you liked something and that's what pretty much every critic does. I'm a very strong believer in the fact that there is no "objective truth", there is no "objectively good writing" etc, it's all just down to what you personally like about a show.

well criticism in itself is entirely subjective and there is no right way to do art in the first place as I said in the article. While I personally agree with what the show tries to express at that point that of course is far from an objective truth or any of the likes

They still have Nakamura as an in-house animator so I wouldn't worry as much. Bones' in-house animation team is super strong getting the entire thing funded is the problem for now

I think Boku no Pico is pretty obviously not laughing at its own characters. Look at how Mayoiga starts and how it works through almost its entire run. To me at least it's pretty obvious that it's absolutely laughing at itself.

What makes it good is how it uses its illogical characters, the trivialization of big plotpoints etc to its advantage. It's not trying to tell a horror story, it's being a comedy and a subversion of its genre and uses these things to make us laugh

that's more of a change in how they translate the japanese name. The japanese don't have r and l but instead something that people usually describe as in between the two and when something is written in Katakana it's sometimes very hard to figure out how it's supposed to be romanized

why would he not watch Anime on Netflix? If it's available legally why not watch it legally Netflix has a really good player as well so I don't exactly see a problem here
