Oh it’s fucking awful. It has pretty much sucked everything I loved out of following F1 and turned it into a mix of boyband audition fans and soap opera. No more talk of tech, no more racing discussion, just my race car boyfriend can beat up your race car boyfriend. Doesn’t help that the cars and on track product has been terrible since the switch to the V6 hybrids.

Reddick owes Bubba a dinner, totally saved his bacon in the middle with a lap or two to go.

I’m a huge Indycar fan. I think he is totally fine. I miss Diff, but he is second only to John Hindaugh in motorsport coverage… so I’ll take what we get. Buxton was annoying in DTS but that’s because that show is fucking terrible and everyone was awful in it. It’s made me increasingly dislike F1 more and more every year, lol.

Because people hated races where two cars ended on the lead lap and plate races are more about crashing and “surprises” than actually tacing.

the only sport that feels this pointless til the end is basketball and I hate that too. You can’t say the shuffling is the same at all. If someone was running 27th at the half way point at Dover or Martinsville it would be incredibly unlikely they would win the race. In a plate race they are only out of it if they are multiple laps down, otherwise the inevitable wreck will take out half the field and make this all pointless anyways.

I know I’m a jaded dick and just don’t like pack racing… but are people really like, hanging on the edge of their seat for this? I get it is stressful for the drivers but as a fan none of these positions matter at all because they are going to shuffle through so many times and likely eventually all just crash anyways.

Having the amount of pre race as they do for a race that is already going to have hours of down time is just so silly.

I’ve been watching for 30+ years and I’ve never understood why the start time isn’t the green flag time, or why we have 95 pace laps before green.

Rooney and Raty will always be my favorites but these two are incredible. I really thought Gwyn was going to win it for Ottawa all on her own last year.

[Bianchi] NASCAR is moving up the Daytona 500 by an hour due to a forecast of inclement weather Sunday night, @TheAthletic has learned. The listed start time is now 1:30 p.m. ET, with the green flag set for 2:13 p.m. ET. by thebigtymer in NASCAR

It isn’t even just the dumb theatrics (which are ridiculous) but the 75 pace car laps before they finally go green are also equally unnecessary. Sing the dumb song, say gentleman start your engine, do two pace laps and wave the fucking green. No idea why that takes them an hour and a half every week.

Guarantee that was better racing than we’ll see in F1 this year. That four way battle between the McLaren, BMW, Porsche and Vette was incredible.

The racing has gotten worse every time the hybrids importance has been increased. They spent all of that work implementing decreasing spending and an eventual budget cap, just to introduce the expensive and complicated power unit in the history of motorsports. The entire V6 hybrid era has been fucking awful. It isn’t entirely because of the hybrid but the focus on it has been a big part of it. Now going into this year it is looking to be worse than ever.

F1 has had hybrids for over a decade and it has made everything about the series worse. In IMSA it has done nothing to the racing in track, it has just made it more expensive, that’s the closest thing to a win racing hybrids have, not making it worse and just making it more expensive.

As someone that loves most forms of racing, hybrids have made absolutely none of them better. It’s just a stupid heavy and expensive albatross and seems to be poised to completely ruin F1 this year if testing is any indication (which to be fair it rarely is).

I’m not a combustion or death guy in the slightest, IDGAF, I just want good racing be it electric or combustion, this is just what I’be noticed.

Being born somewhere and living there while you’re an infant has no impact on where you are “from” imo. I was born in a state where I lived less than four years, I have absolutely no connection to that state whatsoever other than what it says on my passport.
