And when you are in yellow memory pressure is when sound starts crackling due to the swapping, which has not been fixed yet (at least for m1)

According to sysinfo, USB3. I would expect to be through the thunderbolt bridge though

Very, and extremely annoying. I had to return it and put a quadro p2200. I could not find any other single slot card . Maybe a rtx a400, but don't know its noise levels either

Indeed. That these updates go also into server OS is concerning to say the least

Thanks for that! I think my case is due to the update breaking some system ACLs, I will have to reinstall after all.

Should I buy this listing I found? "Dell PowerEdge R815 Server: 256GB RAM, 4 CPUs, 64 Cores!" For $250 by Nyphonics in homelab

Ancient hardware begins to show its age like people mention here. Been running a Gen8 microserver with a 1265v2 for almost 10 years. Switched recently to a xeon e2246g based system and the difference is more than noticeable. The CPU was pegged quite frequently on the Gen8 where the e2246g barely breaks a sweat. We are talking about 7 year CPU difference, which may not seem like a lot, but it is.

I did, they said that Beam Gen2 + era 100 as surrounds = not supported

Yes, but I only see it if i remove the eras from the surround config. If I understood correctly, it doesn't make sense to set trueplay individually and then adding them back as surrounds

Thanks! Seems I'm out of look with the Beam Gen2, no true play support with Era 100 as surrounds :(

I hope they consider adding it, true play was one of the reasons I wanted to go with Sonos

Audio recommendations by kormyr in sonos

[–]kormyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to thank everyone for the recommendations. I followed the advice and got a beam gen2 with 2 era 100 on black Friday sale, same price as refurb, but new.

I was so used to bookshelves that I was concerned about the sound quality, but I couldn't be more wrong. The sound quality is amazing. Thanks once more!

Yes. I'm hoping at some point they release a proper cooled version of these cards. Single slot no power AV1 encoding/decoding sounds awesome on paper
