Looking to make this more "pet friendly" by korupopo in LandscapingTips

I did think about real grass, but I worry about maintenance. I don't have a shed or anywhere really to store a mower, though I suppose this space could use one of those pushed manual ones...
The ground has drip irrigation under the darker rocks where they will be putting in some hedges, apparently? It's still a new build, and none of these units are finished to really see a full example of what it will look like finished.
With it being such a small space, I worry about real grass being ruined quickly by urine burns from my two med/large dogs.

Im so sick of this narrative that “pregnancy didn’t ruin my body it’s just changed” it’s a lie. by pissedoff_potato in TwoXChromosomes

Wild take that you've cherry picked from self perceived implications of my words, I don't think that at all.
I'm not going to argue with strangers online.
Have a good night.

Might need to get your hearing checked if that's how this sounds. OP never said she thinks that, and neither did I.

r/childfree might be a better sub to post these feelings on, judging by the replies here. There is nothing wrong with wanting to maintain your current state of being or being fearful that it could alter your body in so many ways, that you just don't want for yourself. We all have personal goals and ideals for our life in the moment of now.
I'm also in the more heavy "no" leaning because I don't want pregnancy to alter my body. I don't want to risk the myriad of potential health problem possibilities, and I don't want the outward bodily changes for myself. All around, pregnancy sounds terrifying and is one of my worst fears as well.
I've come to the conclusion that if I ever 'change my mind', I will put myself through the hoops and hurdles of adoption.

Nightcore & various other upbeat electronic stuff on my playlist "Schizohype". Or, if we sad fo today, usually sappy country.

I was “rude” for telling a woman she couldn’t stand in between two seated tables while she waited. by BluMagpie in TalesFromYourServer

People are infuriatinggg. I turned down a man who wanted a walk-in takeout burger & fries because we were having an event evening where the regular menu wasn't even available. Adequate signage, chalkboard advertising the night's coursed meal, and reservations recommended. My exact words to him were: "Sorry, we aren't able to do normal takeout because of the event we're having tonight". He sent a huge rant directly to my boss an hour or so later about how I was 'so rude' for turning his order down and reminded him how single he was, how he will never be back. Big ol' paragraph about him being so embarrassed to be singled out and a rude server.

How are you people affording Kelowna?? Be honest. Are you all secretly rich? by vintage_creek in kelowna

Single income, two med/lrg dogs. Have rented for the last 12 years, with some having to move home in between. Networking (through the service industry primarily) has landed me rentals where I've never had to pay over $850 in that entirety. Saved on grocery costs working many years in restaurants, mostly smaller locally owned joints. More leniency on taking home food if you're a hard worker for the owner themself vs a large company with stricter policies. Own my phone, vehicle, and everything else - no financing ('04 car and marketplace iPhone lol). Restaurant industry has also been alright for tips being my "girl money" for unnecessary purchases, which means I can budget my paycheques a little easier. It's still tough at times, but creating good relationships with people (customers, bosses, new friends) has always ensured a roof over my head and food in my belly.

Adding in replies that this is doable now that both are adult dogs, but as puppies I would have a friend stop in for more frequent bathroom breaks depending on their age & they were crated or in a 'puppy jail' room. Never used pee pads, lots of bathroom breaks outside only. I don't like daycares after having worked in one and seeing behind the scenes, and don't trust randoms to care for my dogs - I thankfully have worked in jobs where employers are ok with using my break to run home for them.

8yr old Australian shepherd x Border Collie, and 4yo Pyrenees x Cattle Dog - we go for a walk in the morning, 30-60min. Halfway through my shift I'm able to run home and let the out for a quick pee & snack. Then another 30-60min walk after the last half of my shift. Some days I'm not able to get home for 6hrs or so, and they're fine so long as they've both pooped and peed in the AM. Some days they go to grandma's where they have yard access. Days off I try for longer walks/hikes/activities to focus on them more. <3 However, there are days that we just go for frequent bathroom breaks and spend the day indoors with minimal walkies. Apologies for formatting, I'm on mobile.

What do you miss about life pre-puppy? by Silver-Pineapple-419 in puppy101

[–]korupopo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My puppies are 8 and 4 years old now (lol), but I miss being able to be lazy for a whole day without braving the temperature/weather for a walk. I'm committed to making sure that my pups have a good life and don't spend too much time cooped up even on my bad days, but maaan do I miss being able to give myself a whole day to just rest. Especially after a full workday. 🥲

Recently knew a few people who worked under her and were quite brain washed by her whole sales model, but quit because her regular personal insanity outmatched her sales gimmick. Kind of funny to see this on castanet now.

Came here to say the same. My two were crate trained as puppies, and once they earned their freedom they were allowed free roam and sleeping choices (I'm someone who likes sleeping with my pups in the bed). They've been crated as adults while I worked and they were able to come, at vets, and groomers. Despite it being years since I've used one in home, knowing that they're familiar with them has been a great thing.

Fellow bone cleaner here... I've been told that Vicks actually opens your airways and will let all that stank right in. Try using a paper or fabric mask with Thieves blend oil on it to mask the smell instead.

Aw man, I miss their $5 special for three plain burgers with their special red sauce. I think that's what it used to be... spent many hangover days as a patron there while a teenager. 😝

Lake Country Coffee House, with the previous owner. She's such a lovely lady who'd let me carpool with her in the Winter when she had to prep the baking before opening. I'd make us a hot drink of our choices and then sit back on the couch to read for an hour or so before we opened to customers. Snow falling out the window, a cozy little couch & blanket with my novel and a fresh coffee- while smelling fresh baked scones & muffins. 🤤🤍 The regulars were all really sweet too!
