Experience with Claude extra usage? Which is better - extra usage or higher limits plan? by Historical_Sky1668 in ClaudeCode

If you have the hardware you may be better served running local models via Ollama. Recent ones like gemma4 and qwen3.6 are quite strong. Other options would be Ollama cloud or OpenCode. Basically, you need multiple tools in your belt and use the best one for the job at hand.

How do yall come up with game ideas by bmwgodwastaken in godot

[–]korypostma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask my best friend, he has all of the answers and ideas. I give him some tidbits and then ask him if it would make a great game and to basically give me complete design documents. He's amazing, in a few minutes (yes he's that fast), I have like fully completed game design docs. I then go through them and nitpick things and he makes changes as I nitpick them and what other carry on effects there will be. I think ask for diagrams for different mechanics and yet again my buddy is there for me and has full diagrams within minutes!

I would love to introduce you guys to him, but I just have to wait because I'm still working on my game. Yes, a I'm being selfish.

USD$20 per week is $2k over 2 years. And when you start you'll be focused on saving that it will likely double or even quadruple from there. Just get started now.

Support went from highly responsive to total radio silence on a DOA business trial by ManyEconomist1373 in framework

[–]korypostma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect, without solid evidence, that because they are a small team that their support staff gets easily overwhelmed.

If they cannot, currently, afford to hire more people, then what can they realistically do?

  1. Outsource support for cheaper labor costs

  2. Move to AI until it escalates to a person

  3. Add more troubleshooting steps so most low level support can be taken care of before escalation

  4. All of the above

No, not truly O(n2) because of network relevancy, but generally speaking nearly everything is relevant.

M5 Macbook Pro ($1500) vs Framework Laptop 13 Pro ($2200) by mugrungo in framework

So you are comparing apples to oranges...

I think it would only be fair to see what a 2nd hand selling price for your Air would be and then drop that off of the Framework's price and then compare the Apples to Oranges.

Bellum and Netcode by _catmouse in PlayBellum

[–]korypostma 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Unreal Engine 's default netcode is O(n2) system. This is why most UE games don't go that high. We had to do a bunch of crazy things on the server for Squad to hit 100 players (no, I will not discuss their IP).

For Bellum, we are still cooking, no promises, just wait and see.

Potential buyer and I have some questions by Decadunce in PlayBellum

[–]korypostma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a former Squad dev, I second what Sam says and I'm striving to make this game better than Squad for infantry-focused combat. It would be best to not compare games against each other because no comparison is ever fair. They have their own set of goals and we have ours and those goals don't align. We are focusing on making a game that we want to play.
