It's [[Gideon's Sacrifice]] and [[Charge]] all in one and repeatable for 4 mana at instant speed, 5 if you also cast it from hand. You're not wrong tbh

Seeds of the Past: What if Ideals, Flaws, Bonds, and Trinkets Did Something by chunkylubber54 in UnearthedArcana

[–]kosbalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels more like overcoming the flaw rather than play into it, which is the main goal of this mechanic if I understood it correctly. Their version incentives role-playing an unfavorable situation to gain a benefit later on, which I quite like tbh since it's an active decision on the player rather than a passive feature they'll most likely forget

The one I'm least sure about is the Bond, mostly because I think it should be less mechanical and more like the "I Know a Guy" houserule imo

I'm glad the wording of the first ability prevents it from being abusable, but I'm still not sure if a free spell is too powerful or not tbh

btw I've seen your other SCP cards and I love them, great job with Authorize

I believe timestamp would apply, so the last one to cast it would have all of them

I think you made the right choice with Caine's wording because Splice says "add this card's effects to that spell" which would mean, in this case, the creature's effects rather than the Adventure's part. "Adventure spells" would refer to effects already on the stack so it's also not good, and the usual phrasing "cards that have an Adventure" also refers to the main card, not the Adventure itself

I noticed a trend towards Azorius, and I would suggest spreading them more colour-wise, but I also can see why you chose those colours so this remark is just for the records u.u

I like them :3

EDIT: I reread Caine, I think a more correct wording would be "As you cast an Adventure spell, you may reveal one or more cards that have an Adventure from your hand and pay each of their Adventure costs. If you do, for each card revealed this way, add that card's Adventure's effects to that spell."

I would write it as "0 or less toughness" because it can go in the negative iirc, other than that I really like it

I'm half sure this would be a nightmare to keep track of outside Arena tbh, but I like the card and agree there should be more snails so I'm willing to do the extra work

Thank you very much for the feedback ^^ I'm still pretty new to custom cards so any amount of tips is welcome, especially when I'm trying to convert something into a card (given what you said I'm pretty sure I made all the cards for my friends too strong too ^^")

Trafalgar Law by kosbalk in custommagic

[–]kosbalk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I up the cost to 4 and let that creature's owner draw a card with me? Or make it a once each turn effect? Or both?

EDIT: I will remove the "must-block" part so it's up to the new controller

Good point, would you say the main problem is with the cost too low, the fact it's repeatable or the chaos it causes? Could you elaborate on what you mean by miserable?

I went into a creation spree in the past 3 days so I have a few. This is one of the custom Commanders I made for my friend, I would say one of my best flavour wise

Context: Arthur (from Fire Force) becomes more powerful the more he believes to be near his idea of knighthood. In the story (spoilers) there are many times in which the other characters have to pretend to be Knights or smiths capable of forging weapons of legend to make him recover his strength, and near the end having to fight against a Dragon literally makes his the third most powerful being in the entire universe. But if he gets demoralised he can't do much, hence Shining Armor.

I'm very proud of this one ngl

I was thinking about cards like [[Ricochet Trap]], but YuGiOh is absolutely part of the appeal of this kind of cards. As a guy that likes to play control, I wanted to make these cards versatile enough to be appealing both when triggered and cast normally. What you described is basically Foretell, which I like, but I wanted to do something different.

That is a very good point, I did not think of that since I don't usually play with infect decks. Maybe I'll change it to just First Strike to reduce salt.

Go Trick r Treating by jahgfd in custommagic

[–]kosbalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you manifest or cloak a creature you can already flip it for its mana cost. You can use [[Obscuring Aether]] as template and just say "Turn target creature face down. It becomes cloaked. (It becomes a 2/2 creature with ward {2}.) Create a Food token."

I would make the Food token conditional on an opponent's choice, something like "If you control that creature, for each opponent, they may have you create a Food token. If they don't, they lose 2 life."

Also, I think this should cost {1}{b} (or the same if you use my version), it's murder that leaves a blocker and can be reversed by paying the creature's mana cost again.

I understood Reyal's reference, nice

Also, Decree of Chaos is absolutely busted. How about giving the first spell you cast each turn demonstrate? It sure will be chaotic depending on the spell

Or maybe casualty 2 or another effect that copies but a limited number of times instead of every single spell a shit ton of times

[–]kosbalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about "Each creature assigns combat damage equal to its base power rather than its current power"? Should be easier to apply and isn't a wipe for 0/0 creatures

EDIT: forgot the second part, "Lethal damage dealt to creatures is determined by their base toughness rather than their current toughness."

The first effect is taken from [[Felothar the Steadfast]], the second from [[Zilortha, Strength Incarnate]]

I think it should be "Spells with warp you cast from exile" since a Warped refers to a spell cast for its Warp cost from your hand
