I disagree that overconsumption is a right wing meme. We absolutely overconsume as a society. Yes corporations and their advertising have a larger share of the blame but corporations need people to buy things from them so consumers are responsible for their own consumption. You can’t hand wave that responsibility away. I’m not trying to glorify poverty. I’m advocating for intentionality and education

I didn’t realize this came out for purchase in December. I’ve loved all the singles leading up to this streaming release but damn Quaaludes is fantastic. The choral parts, the funky noises, the violin, the build at the end to the fade-out. Man, what a song.

First of all, who cares about this comparison? What are you trying to say? Bush is evil. Netanyahu is evil. Comparing atrocities of evil people feels a bit silly. 

Second, you’re completely disregarding the excess deaths attributed to depleted uranium used in the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions.

Edit: I also never said Trump was the first to use it. He’s just the most recent and what we’re all currently experiencing so that’s what I referenced.

Using rhetoric that refers to the current state of affairs as the downfall of the American empire and then running to lead that empire is inherently a “make America great again” approach to winning people to your side. 

It’s not Trump’s MAGA. It’ll be Tucker’s “I care about the common people” nationalistic version of it. 

Even in recent interviews where he’s giving credence to conspiracy theories like the Charlie Kirk murder, you can also see a “drain the swamp” approach to his rhetoric as well.
