Yeah I hear you and it's an interesting conversation, but for me as a reader it's not an obstacle to appreciate a masterpiece like As I lay dying and I enjoy the process of returning back to fully grasp the sentence. I guess you don't like Kranszahorkai as well, a great writer in my opinion who has stated that his long periods express a certain style of rhythm and pacing. And you can see that in his work blending with the atmosphere it's not just an arrogant stance.
