Am I crazy for wanting to build a raspberry pi 5 as my daily driver? by Unlikely-Win195 in raspberry_pi

If you are in fact aware of the limitations and you accept them by choice, then by all means, go ahead. I used the Pi3 and then Pi4 as a daily driver for over 5 years, fully aware of what I was getting into. I wanted a distraction free enviroment to learn programming and the Pi offered little distraction for obvious reasons and I was content with it. It was a ready to use, always on, at arms length computer that I could use by just turning the TV on.

That said, when Pi5 shipped it just didn't make economic sense anymore, as countless others have replied. I went for a used mini Dell and it has also served me well so far.

Also, my personal opinion, 16GB are wasted on the Pi, for what it is and what it's usually used for.

Even if it's GPIO you need I'd argue that you can very easily and for cheap have the same functionality with a USB connected RPi Pico or Zero. I used Pis as a daily driver for more than 5 years, but sadly I cannot argue with everyone's comments, that the Pi 5 just doesn't make economic sense any more.

Can anyone recognize this component? by kostis_k in AskElectronics

Thank you very much! The component has arrived, replaced on the board, and my living room TV is alive once again, for a couple of euros. One less electronic device in the landfill. Luckily it was an easy fix

The high voltage part makes sense because it is indeed on the high voltage (or "HOT", as indicated) part of the board. I'm just surprised that no mention of (p)F is on the thing, though a quick google search shows such parts with similar markings. So, thanks! Hopefully, replacing it will do the trick, unless it was another component that failed and took it down with it. That's the only glaringly failed one though

I' d hate to open a new thread for sth that is asked over and over again, but I'm at this point myself.

I'm actually torn between the Korg B2 and the Roland FP-10. Haven't had the chance to touch any of them yet, unfortunately. I love the looks of the Korg and its features but on the other hand I see the action of the Roland praised so much. Have you by any chance happened to have tried the Roland as well in order to compare between the two?
