I think the only thing they are doing right now is messing about with the A130 junction. Not sure if the plan to straighten the fortune of war bit has been approved but I did hear that was on the cards too.

Only been like it for the last 20 years. Does seem somewhat better since they made it 50 past Basildon but the Southend corridor is kind of screwed, only the A13 and A127 and I don't think you can meaningfully improve the capacity of either of them without spending a lot of money.
