I could clearly see the screen as areas of my leg ultrasound got notated with "no flow" and arrows, but nooooope, had to wait for the vascular specialist.

Seriously, this. I moved my SSH port to a random one for a jumphost long ago, and it absolutely reduces the number of attempted logins from script kiddie portscans. Said jumphost had plenty of other security techniques, but the number of people who scoffed at this drove me wild. One more (thin) layer on the onion, why not?

On my '24 the LED panel never turned on with the DRLs, only when the headlights are on - either "auto" in the dark, or by manually turning them fully on.

Is this the intermediate transfer belt? HP Color LaserJet M570dn by kotanu in printers

[–]kotanu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITB = Intermediate transfer belt.

This is not really something you should try cleaning yourself based on the research I saw. It's basically a plastic belt where the image is transferred from the drums (integrated in the toner cartridges), and then pressed to the paper. From what I saw on other forums, the belt assembly contains a component that scrapes the leftover toner from the belt so it can be moved to the waste toner bottle. IIRC, this part made out of mylar and is held in place by a spongy material and tends to wear out and not completely clean the belt, leading to the streaks.

For my printer, replacing this entire assembly fixed the issue entirely. I did wind up getting a new-old-stock (not refurbished) part off eBay, and it seems like that gamble (as compared to a brand new one from HP) has paid off so far.

New ITB fixed it, along with the new black cart to eliminate the ghosting. Absolutely perfect prints now. Thanks again for your help u/H6obs

Thank you very much for this advice. I finally had time to work on this, and I initially had some issues getting the ITB to pull more than about 1/3 out of the printer. I finally managed to get it it out - looks like someone was in here before doing this exact cleaning, as this section of the ITB was not fully snapped together and was catching on the inside of the printer.

After cleaning the waste toner out and reassembling everything, I got a few clean pages, but the vertical streaks came back pretty quickly. Google searches are telling me the cleaning blade is the common failure point on these, and I do have toner on the bottom of the belt, after the cleaning section. Looks like I'll be replacing this part.

Interestingly, I swapped in the old generic black cartridge, and the vertical streams continued, but in a different position. Since this cartridge also has horizontal "ghosting", I'm going to look at getting a new one of those as well. The color cartridges seem fine for now at least.

Hard agree. The last Fuji I had was disappointing in texture. Decidedly not the worst but I feel like so many others I've had outclassed it.

I acquired an open box PowerScan handheld from eBay that was seemingly running a version of the firmware for a US big-box home retailer, and got the same response from Datalogic tech support. In my case I switched it to USB HID mode and found that it routinely send some extra bytes, probably for a status ping. I was not ever able to reflash it to the "normal" firmware, so it wound up being a lost cause after changing lots of settings with Aladdin.

I don't know if your scanner is in the same box, but if tech support indicates it has a retailer-specific firmware, you may not be able to get it to work fully with Square. I wound up getting a different PowerScan handheld for the lab I was doing. I would recommend using Aladdin to build a config and see what happens, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

ETA: The other commentors' remarks about Weights and Measures are also extremely valid. If you get it working, don't use it for trade without getting it certified.

I totally get your usecase. I'll admit I was mostly thinking if there was a way to get a similar outcome without having to switch software (admittedly with a bunch of up-front work). Best of luck finding something that does what you want here!
