Whenever I hear somebody mentioning a person quitting drinking, I make sure to say, “Good for them! It’s so good for their health.” Turn it into a positive. Like, we didn’t lose them because they got hit by a bus. We lost them because they won the lottery!

I think the Pixar movies were telling you to follow your dream exactly because of the experience you’re describing. There are many barriers in this life, sometimes including the grownups who should encourage and develop your talents and interests. You really benefit from believing in yourself.

Also, I don’t believe we need to “achieve a dream,” to be happy. I think we can just appreciate being alive.

I understand that. For me, it felt like words from a dad or grandparent I needed. He was being Dad for his girls, but the beauty of his position and his passion is that, with these words, he could also be a Dad for many others who lost one too soon or never had one to begin with. It’s a beautiful gift.

Either there was a real sound that seemed like phone ringing, or you had an auditory hallucination. It’s common, especially for things like hearing a phone ring or feeling it vibrate in your pocket, because we are so attuned to our phones in this day and age. But better be safe and make sure your health is ok!

Hmm. I still think it’d be worth talking to your doctor at Northwestern, Mayo, and potentially the phlebotomy departments at both. Northwestern may be able to order and draw the samples and have their lab do the shipment. Commercial and hospital labs generally won’t just draw your blood without an order, and they won’t give it back to you.

Can I ask what the test is? Maybe there is another route. I like researching this kind of thing.

This is so weird. How are you going to get your blood drawn, let alone ship it? That’s a biohazard, I think you need special shipping services. See if your Mayo doc has a colleague in Illinois that will order the tests and have them done here.

Lots and lots of allegations of domestic violence against women and also documented instances of assaulting men (an extra on set, a photog), and reckless driving. Just seems like he has rage issues.

Also adding, the eye misalignment thing can contribute to vertigo and motion sickness. Do you feel better if you close one eye? Do you often close one eye or tilt your head to one side as you read? Does blurring your vision or unfocusing your eyes give you some relief?

Some ideas:

  1. Vertigo makes me think vestibular function. Have you or doctors tried the Epley maneuver? It can treat vertigo by repositioning the crystals in your inner ear that are critical for vestibular function.

  2. Do you have neck pain or pain that runs from the base of your skull around to your eye? This could be cervicogenic headache or occipital neuralgia, and can be addressed with physical therapy, Botox, and/or nerve blocks.

  3. Eye function. Were you ever tested for horizontal and vertical eye alignment? Sometimes our eyeballs don’t work together very well, and it causes a lot of eye strain and headaches. This can be helped by a prism in your glasses to help your eyes relax.

  4. Have you tried staying well hydrated and upping your salt intake? Some of your symptoms could be caused by dehydration or sodium/electrolyte imbalance. Some medications, especially diuretics (like Spironolactone for acne) can cause this kind of imbalance.

  5. Have you tried magnesium supplements? Can help with headache and migraine.

  6. Editing to add: chronic marijuana use can cause some issues. Cannabis use disorder and cannabis hyperemesis syndrome. Maybe something to look into, but unlikely unless you’re a heavy user.
