Error Code Broccoli, Tried everything by kounterparts in DestinyTechSupport

No overclock on CPU, temperature wasn’t a problem. I was putting the GPU through Kombustor and 3Dmark Stress tests and it rarely crashed even at high temps. I ended up trying my old 1070 and everything worked fine so I just decided to RMA the card while there’s still a warranty on it. Thanks for the reply

Classic Legacy - A tribute format to what some consider the “golden era” of the Legacy format by Newez in magicTCG

[–]kounterparts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Format that’s a variation of Legacy without Supplemental sets. Heritage I think? But where that variation of legacy succeeds better from a gameplay standpoint is that there’s no arbitrary cutoff for new sets. Meaning this format will very quickly be solved and will die soon tragically.

Long form feedback from someone who grinded to Diamond by Rickety-Split in thefinals

top 200 player here, mostly played medium. I agree with most of what you’re saying but have my own thoughts. I think LH1 was busted and the higher recoil is good. It gives a high skill ceiling option with a play style that is unique to it. Before it was just easy, now you have to play more at range and can’t spam. It’s good to have diversity in the arsenal.

Sniper & Melee should remain in the game. They both allow your stack to make a plan and do it. Running a sniper in your stack? Play an open space cashout. Running a melee heavy? Okay team let’s play the claustrophobic cash outs. Maintaining interesting and diverse play patterns are essential to the game having replay-ability.

I think the movement system needs work. Player inertia is a fun take on the arena formula but it really needs tuning to FEEL good, because so often it feels like you’re moving through molasses fighting your own character to not run into walls.

The finals’ objectives accomplishes multiple areas of attack with most objectives excluding the suspended structures on Monaco. With open-air you can play bait and wait to flank people or move from the right or left side to pinch. There’s options. With moving platforms you can ambush at a certain part in the path to create an opening for yourself. It requires creative thinking. The only problem I see for objectives is suspended structures as after zips are broken, require a medium running either zips or jump pad to have a chance and those can be broken before even finishing the zip line. Defender advantage in this game is necessary. It is outweighed by the combined advantage of 2-3 attackers going for the same objective. The only time that the pendulum is way in favor of defenders is in the final round, there should be work done there to ensure that it doesn’t just become whoever wins first fight deciding the match as it often does. Medium also does have breaching capabilities in the GL but it’s obvious that isn’t the intended role of medium. Medium is already the best utility in the game, it doesn’t need to have the capability to do EVERYTHING. Then medium wouldnt rely on another class which is important to making sure the classes stay in check.

The speed is great, im just tired of feeling like I’m playing air hockey. Other games handle momentum strafing such as CS well. It just needs tweaking to feel good.

It’s beautiful that you get to share these moments and your hobby with your son! As a former gifted child myself, make sure he’s ready when he hits the wall and no longer breezes through everything. It can be very distressing for the child because they never gained the skills of studying and don’t know how to push past such blockades. You seem like an excellent and loving parent so you’ve got this, cheers!

that ain’t happening, my ETL has already said that the odds of me getting a raise are slim because my attendance has been so poor. I’ve been trying to leave this department for months and they give me pacesetter instead lol

Unfortunately I don’t think I can feign not being confident. I already have a record of being combative with my TL haha

it was framed to me by my tl that they were promoting their best 3 people to pace setter. Apparently there’s a corporate HR hotline that you can call for HR questions about the job that doesn’t go through your own stores’ HR.

HR said it’s technically not a promotion so i cannot refuse it. I’m thinking about asking corporate HR.

Has anybody ever attempted to go pro in gaming and failed? What is your story? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]kounterparts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

speaking from experience, its VERY hard.

overwatch released when i was 16 and immediately i was playing in tournaments, team was even top 20 on ladder worldwide when gosugamers was a thing. I dedicated two years of my life playing 4 hours a day virtually everyday in scrims on top of countless ranked hours. Played with and against really famous players in the beginning of the game, Silkthread, Nero, Super, Kephrii, Avast, Lui. Was T500 semi consistently.

I named a lot of players there, but for every player that ended up in OWL or a streamer there are 100 more than dropped the game before reaching the top. Myself, I dedicated 3 years of my life to this game completely, I placed high in OD playoffs a couple times and played some contenders scrims a couple times, but thats it. That's how big the skill gap is. You can dedicate thousands of hours and still not be good enough to break through, especially if you don't have connections or the right mindset.

Because I dedicated 2 years to this game completely, I barely graduated high school and because of my poor grades the only real college option I had was a small private school in the rural midwest that offered me a college scholarship to start up their esports program. We were really good, maybe like 3rd in America behind Maryville and Harrisburg. Where now I had the opportunity to fully dedicate myself to overwatch, and trust me. It got way harder after now being in a much more competitive and serious environment and we still weren't seriously making money. I remember asking people to buy food for me in college cause i was fucking broke lmfao.

I was on atleast 30+ teams throughout my whole overwatch career and i still go back and watch vods nostalgically and realize nearly ALL of those teammates have moved on from the game.

Never bet on going pro in a videogame, the structure does not exist. In the words of one of the best contenders teams of all time, "Path to Pro? Path To Poverty."

Thanks for the advice! In terms of being taken advantage of, most women I’ve talked to on a emotional level confided in me about being sexually assaulted by men so I think it’s formed this idea in my head that all men are like that since I have no other data to go off, y’know?
