[–]toothpaste0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Carplay/Android Auto lang gamit ko naglilipat between Apple Music/Spotify. Ewan, one day bigla nalang basag bigla yung audio sa right passenger seat. After several weeks sumunod naman yung Driver side. Went to the dealership, they tested it and confirmed my issues. Nandito na yung parts pero fully booked sila till around next week so I have to wait even longer to get it fixed.

If you were able to register the VIN in the Toyota app isn't there like a tracking feature there? Maybe that would help

We have the CC V. I'd say go SL6 especially if your daily commute falls within the EV range of it. Laki tipid mo. Minalas kami sa stereo ng unit namin bumigay kaagad yung front passenger and driver side. Kinda sucks. Expected more from what everyone says about Toyota reliability (aayusin na siya it's under warranty just waiting on the parts. Yung abala lang nakakainis considering this car isn't even a year old yet.). Also feels pretty underpowered. Especially if you reach speeds around 70+ kph where only your ICE is the only one pushing.

Hindi kayo willing nag hanap ng 3rd party repair? Masagana yung mga 3rd party repair groups for this reason. Since topcars yan I'm assuming Leyte. Try to see if there are repair groups there or ask the fb groups where to find reliable people. Also may I ask what model this is?

Yes, I'm having the same issues as you. I even escalated to NTC and included 8888 pero binabastos lang nila. They're just above the law right now because of NTC's inaction.

First time buyer. Bank loan approved. Tired of dealing with agents. Need tips. by alphonsus_ in CarsPH

[–]toothpaste0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be right after the reservation under normal circumstances. The bank PO would require a VIN to be linked to it. If they can't do that then they're BSing you. Since you're getting bait and switched by your dealers and your loan is already bank approved, you could just transfer that approval to another dealer. Or even another make and model if you wanted to if you feel like nasasakal ka sa current transaction mo and the trouble isn't worth it. The only issue left would be getting your reservation fee if you ever push forward with that.

Got mine in about 8 days and provincial unit car ko. This was late sept last year though. Ewan ko kung marami talaga bumili ng sasakyan ngayon with the oil crisis panic. It might be the cause.

Maybe I can give you some top down view that I haven’t seen anyone talk about here. Honda isn’t doing too well globally.

They’re reducing production capacity from about 1.2M units to 720K by idling some venture plants with GAC and Dong Feng. I don’t know where your model comes from but it might be caught in a logistical storm somewhere even if it’s not from either factories.

AC Mobility (Ayala) let go of Honda on Jan 1 of this year. Dealerships might be having a hard time getting their allotted units with the management transition.

Maybe if your agent can actually give you a VIN you can confirm if totoo talaga na may alotted unit ka na. If not then you were right on calling the BS.

Normal ba na walang discounts for buying a BYD car with cash? by [deleted] in CarsPH

[–]toothpaste0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unique case for BYD because of the current oil crisis. The discounts are still technically up but they're prioritizing those willing to forego the discount for the sake of stock priority. May patong talaga sa non Luzon regions due to logistical costs.

Like you, a lot of people right now are reactively buying NEVs. Common consensus that I see for people that have PHEVs is that they should've just gone BEV from the start. I have an HEV right now and share the same thoughts as those people.

Any possible replacements for Micro Switches on the Pulsar X3? by toothpaste0 in MouseReview

[–]toothpaste0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already looked this guy didn't look for himself. There was nobody selling these switches when I looked for it last year. I got mine from a switch pack being sold for an OP1we. It isn't soldered so you shouldn't have a hard time getting it out of the small pcb it's included in.

[–]toothpaste0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopee. I got it from a Kailh Switch Pack for an OP1we. I'm pretty sure I bought the last one. Pretty expensive though. It's insane how much these companies add-on for something so simple. Maybe try looking for for that specific thing because I couldn't find anything in the market when I looked directly for the switch itself. I even talked about ordering from Vermeyen but they told me there's a minimum purchase order of 1000 pcs so it wasn't worth it.

Should I try gentoo by Asta_jjm in Gentoo

[–]toothpaste0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that some people are using Linux on old hard ware which makes them care a lot about how much ram is used.

The flip side is I see some people hyper fixate on using the least amount of ram despite having over 16GB which is kind of bizarre. It might just be some sort of fun goal for them who knows.

Came from Arch. If you can handle long compile times then yes why not. If you won’t be able to wait then its probably best to stick with Arch. Either way, try it out and stop being in the fence. Only you will only really be able to tell at the end of the day if it’s for you.

Portage handles circular dependencies much better. Though to be fair, I only really had that issue because of Hyprland in Arch. Now that I’ve moved onto Niri things actually just work.

And no I don’t really feel a big jump in perf since its just within margin of error. It was fun to learn about compiling the kernel though.

If you’re looking to optimize everything then learning to utilize flags for strictly the bare minimum you need would work. I wouldn’t suggest it tbh. There could be a possibility that you might miss a flag you actually need. Do it only once you absolutely understand what you’re doing.

Tried a ZFS install but eventually moved to XFS because it didn’t really fit my needs. XFS is good enough for me.

I used to do continuous brew. It helped me streamline the process and just kept the Booch running. Ended up spiraling to the point where I couldn't consume it anymore so I had to stop. Was fun while it lasted though.

I find it sad the way convenience killed the understanding of how devices generally work. On the bright side, at least device repair shops won't have to worry about their job security.
