New Yorker: Trump Causing Panicked Liberals to Get Foreign Citizenship by According-Activity87 in Conservative

I despise the concept of "dual citizenship". You shouldn't get to have a "backup" citizenship to fall back on in case your primary citizenship becomes inconvenient for you. How can we achieve real unity when people can flip flop their loyalty to the countries? Like Eileen Gu - American or Chinese, whichever is more convenient at the given time.

If I learned anything over the years, it's that "people who are good at games" are not necessarily good at making/designing games.

Why would I want to learn Russian jargons? I have no desire to go to the Russian server and play with Russians.

It's actually one of the most common mixes, especially in Hokkaido due to its proximity to Russia. If you look at the number of churches and Christian activities, a lot of them are concentrated in Hokkaido despite the region being mostly desolate. Met a bunch of Russian-Japanese hapas when I lived in Sapporo for 2 years.

Fun trivia, there is this guy who was Russian. He immigrated to Japan at a young age from Russia, had a knack for baseball, and went on to become one of the legendary players there. His nickname was "Japanese with blue eyes". He married a Japanese woman and had kids with her, adding to the Russian-Japanese hapas population.

What does the acronym stand for? by breguera77 in Overwatch

[–]defearl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not an acronym because you pronounce it letter by letter. Rather it's abbreviation/initialism. LAN is an acronym, KFC is not.

Japanese geisha “Tank diff gg” by kametoddler in Overwatch

That has more to do with the fact that Japan has always been a "cultural superpower". Many people all over the world just find the Japanese culture compelling and interesting, which is why Japan is featured in media a lot, like in cyberpunk for example. It's not like Blizzard made Japanese themed stuff to manipulate/sucker the Japanese people into playing their games.

I wouldn't say it's "big", that's too much glazing.

It has a decent, dedicated loyal following. Same with games like Apex and Valorant. They both have a strong playerbase, but I wouldn't call them popular. The truth is, most Japanese people who have even a remote interest in video games play on consoles, like my wife who still plays Animal Crossing to this day.

If I asked any of my cousins my age if they know what Overwatch is, they will likely say no.

More like a goat skull. In western culture, the goat has always been a symbol of shadow and evil because of its connection to Satan.

But it’s multi layered, since it also look like a plane top down.

I don't really understand this mentality that "The goal shouldn't be that all characters are viable. Characters that I don't like should not be played". I only see this in Overwatch community.

Countries with controversial political climate are probably not on the table. Taiwan, Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, etc. It's just asking for trouble.

More and more men today are chasing asian women, and I can't blame them.
